Nopi

So who all went to nopi in Michigan this weekend? I know someone on this site was there today, he was sporting a cobaltss.net sticker in the back window.

That was probably me.

Was a little disappointed in the attendance. First NOPI show I've been too, but it seemed a lot less crowded than I expected. Very few vendors and a pretty small show field also. Three or four 'Balts but no S/C. Guess the midwest really hasn't caught on to the Tuner thing...

Couple of pics of the highlights:

Dueling 'Balts...

Jello Wrestling...

Clean up after the jello...

Yeah it was a small turn out, but I kind of expected it being michigan and the worst state to own a car. The place I parked, there was like 4 ss/sc and a yellow ls with the sc spoiler. Saturday was a better turn out but still small. Did you take the oppertunity to run down the track? I did it for the first time its such a rush with people watching.

No runs this day. I have felt the rush of running down the track before in some of my other vehicles. Very cool feeling.

I was parked right next to the yellow ls with the S/C spoiler. When I drove in the ticket lady said: "Weren't you already here?" I said: "No, why?" She said: "There have been, like, 10 cars just like yours here today"

Most popular car at an "Import" show is a Cobalt???

Well b4 you got there, I managed to **** both ticket booths off because they screwed me over both days with my ticket. I think I drove back and forth between the booths at least 10 time both days because they either didnt want to let me in, of they gave me the wrong ticket, or just being a plain PITA. So what area are you from?

nopi looks like fun, but does anyone else think when they are watching the show.....
that it spends way to much time talkin about "gettin freaky in the jello", 1000 adolecent guys spoogin in their pants at the bikini contest, and oh yeah....theres a few drag races?

Dont get me wrong, i wouldnt pass up watchin some of that hot ass.....
but it kinda bugs me when i watch the show....cuz its all about ass, and about 30 seconds showing some drag passes.

Im all the way out in milford/canton.

an0malous, the michigan nopi is pretty much like you just said, but the nationals out in GA are way better. Well so are the girls, but the car shows and races are deffinitly top notch. My friends and I wanna go this year with as many cars as possible so we can snake through traffic, block traffic, surround cars, just the general breaking the law stuff....

yah im with ya on the actual experience.

what im talkin about is the show on speed though.....
like i said....im all for hotties in scanty bikinis etc....but this is a tuner racing show, on the speed channel.....to me it just degrades the tuner scene and makes it just look like a big orgy party, with 30 seconds of car drags.

I dunno. just my impression on the TV show.

I love the other models. hell, the 2.4 at nopi was running low 9's in the 1/4. And it still looked like a cobalt unlike those hardcore drag cobalts. god i want that car
