Official TVS Thread!!!
#680
So I woke up in the middle of the night will a possible reason for my higher boost. (No idea why). When I ordered my TVS from OTTP I did it over the phone with josh. When the pre shipped invoice came it had 2.8" pulley on it. I told josh on more than one occasion to make sure he changes that and sends me a 2.9" because that's what I wanted to start with. Got my TVS with the pulley on it and thought nothing of it. So this morning I grab my M62 2.8" and mock it beside my TVS pulley. Same. Damn. Size. Ohhh josh you need more helping hands at OTTP lol. So it looks like I'm running a 2.8" not 2.9".

Thanks for the offer but im just gonna stick with the 2.8". I just wanted to start with the 2.9" to see what I could run with it and allow me to upgrade when I got bored haha. Which has already happened lol. I got my hands on a head so I'm just saving up to go get it ported.

You have to look @ it like this...
The TVS has a max continuous rpm around 18000 rpm
It still being a roots even with the 180* twist, anything past 17-18 PSI and it's generating ridiculous amounts of heat, as seen on anything smaller than a 3" pulley.
If your head work supports it,
- rev as high as you can
- Pulley accordingly so that by redline your seeing max 18-20 psi
- These cars don't really see much difference between 11.6-12.2 AFR in terms of hp. Do your EGTs a favor and stick to 11.6-11.8 AFR
- Most importantly, *** IF THE OCTANE PERMITS*** **VERY IMPORTANT** Add timing where it wants to be added... Hop on the dyno, set up a weak flat timing advance table to find peak cylinder pressure @ X RPM. Then build your timing table around that one point.
***Note: You can pulley down further to make more torque in the mid range. Your needle bearings will hate you, your thermal temps will sky rocket, and anything that will hate you, will hate you for doing so.***

I dont think I could pulley back up lol. I put the 2.9 on this spring and was planning on running it for a while anyways....took it off that same night and put the 2.7 back on. I had a lot of fun the first time on the 2.9 but I just missed the power of the 2.7 after I made the switch back.
