thats our big gain droping to a 2.5 but BilletFlows 2.7 is a lil smaller then 2.7....like 2.67 or 2.68 from a convo i had with Doug at his shop...so theres just such a small drop i dont see a gain with that....the .15-.20 drop we got into our TRUE 2.5 is biger then the .06 drop that i think is gonna happen betwen a 2.6 and2.7.
its all in the way there are mesured.

I just had a 2.7 and lucas 42's on the dyno a/f where in the mid 11's thought the pull and IDC was 84% . BTW when did the 80% become a rule the Intake valve isn't open 80% of the time ? I'm just looking for some clarification as you seem to know what your talking about .
What are you using to measure the IDC..?

Was he specifically asking about Billettflow? I thought he was just referring to a 2.7 pulley.
2.8
well hello pat how are you?
I have dynoed (with patathSS) at VT racing in Lansing twice. once stock once with just stage 2. I have all my dyno info along with my A/F ratio stuff. tried to post all of it earlier but it wouldnt let me.
anyhow Im just bought a 2.79 pulley and will be throwing it on shortly.
my question is to those who say this setup is unsafe.
are you running any other mods specifically a CAI that might also affect your A/F ratio?
i sorry if this was answered before, i read to page 7 and had to ask.
this thread has got me hooked.
i just wish people wouldnt get so angry and go back and forth all the time.....oh well such is the internet and the state of human behavior.
Thanks for all who posted some more so....
and a special thanks to 06black for all of his talk and then backing it up with statistical data. just take it easy dude. not everybody has your automotive knowledge (me included) and has seen many conflicting reports and we want to weigh all options before judgment.

yea i know i went a little overbord there but i just get a lil upset when the same thing is asked in differant form multiple times in the same thred...
i'm just runig the air box mod...but to an extreme...i copyed the CA unit that replaces the bottom half...
i want a real intake but i can find better things to spend money on that will make the car faster...not just sound faster.
so yes that would casue a little more of a lean set up then not haveing it but its not possible for an intake to lean the car out as much as it is with a 2.7 and 42's

and yea as we spin it faster we hit deminishing returns around the 2.8ish mark...from then on out we dont make much more HP but sence the boost rolls in faster we get more TQ..
TQ...FTW
The numbers are what they are,,, that's the black and white simple part.
But,
what I keep getting stuck on is that the 3" to 2.8" is a decent jump,, but it's not a huge jump. So I have trouble accepting that GM's stage 2 runs that close to max IDC. I mean if the 2.8 is putting it well over 110% IDC, than that means the 3" should be very close to max as well.
I just find it hard to believe that GM is pushing that close to the limits you know.
Especially now that the GM stage 3 is allegedly coming with a 2.8" and it does not upgrade the injectors.
I'm not saying that anyone's info is wrong, but it just strikes me as odd that GM would release their Stage kit with the 42's if they are so close to being maxed
Just my .02

I just got my car back from the dealer. I had the stage 2 and gmpp exhaust put on. I also just installed my injen intake and 2.8 pulley. I am going to install some colder spark plugs tomorrow. The car is unbelievable. I have no cel's or any other problems. The car runs like a top. I could not be more satisfied. My hnext mods are a shift light and the ZZP header and downpipe combo. I am also looking for a stage 3 clutch. MODDING IS ADDICTING!

It 2 bright ass LED's for shift lights, and is an extremely helpful tool. It scans everything that your OBD2 system monitors. RPM, BOOST, IAT, IAT2, KR, etc etc
It doesn't sound like you are going to stop modding soon, so it may come in handy for you
