only 7,500 miles. Mods that don't effect warranty??

I have Stage 2, Gmpp exhaust, and CAI. Is there anything else worth doing that doesn't void warranty? Should I just wait till 36,000 miles to do anything else?

Hahn stage 5

How about handling mods like a strut bar or rear sway bar. Those are great mods.

Ha yeah Chevy would love a big ass turbo when I pull in for some warranty work.

good call on handling mods. Cobalt doesn't destroy everything in a 1/4 mile but it does handle good and is fun to drive. I will look into that. Any recommendations for brands?

I have the DC sports strut bar and progress rear sway bar, and I have nothing bad to say about them at all. I've heard that the MRZ strut bar can be a pain to install, but if you are going for looks, that would be the way to go. I have also heard some good things about the TTR rear sway bar, so you might want to check them out as well.

With both bars on, it handles like a different car altogether.

The strut bar takes about 3 minutes. lol Unless you break a bolt like I did. (But thats another story)

The rear sway took me a half an hour including jacking the car up and lowering it back down because I was slow that night. lol

As far as tech ability goes, anyone can do it.

you might as well just go all out and not worry about the warranty. As soon as you take the car in for warranty work, the stealership will just void the warranty anyway.

warranty, what warranty?

Honed exhaust manifold won't void the warranty at all, specially if you have it installed by a dealership.

I saw a few nice hoods on the net. Black deep dish wheels would be nice. Its black on black. I was checking out the black halo lights, anyone with experience with them? Ebay sells them for cheap but Ive read that they arent that great? Rebadging when it gets warmer.

Anything in the suspension, some driveline. It depends on the dealer though, if you have one that is easygoing, they won't care. Technically, anything that your modifications affect, they don't have to warranty. Its usually not that severe though.

So if anything went wrong with my driveline they may not service me? CV boot or something expensive like that would suck. I think I might go talk to my local dealer tomorrow to see what kind of stuff they will let slide as far as mods go. Not just suspension.

Ya every dealer is different. To be safe roll with the GMPP Exhaust manifold, put on the cross drilled and slotted rotors with something like EBC Green pads and some lighter wheels. Losing a few pounds of rotating mass will have a HUGE benefit. Not to mention I'd go with say an 18X8 so you can put on a 235/40/18 sized tire. Those mods can help a lot along with the ingalls engine tq dampner. Dual-pass intercooler endplate and the 2.9 pulley will run reliably on the GM Stage 2 tune. One range colder spark plugs are recommended but I'm doing just fine with the stock plugs myself. I hope this helps.

WELL if they wanna be a dick like mine...and not replace your CV joint because (its more than stout enuff to handle 300 hp....HAHA!! Dicks) then they wont cause they have you by the nuts as far as warrenty gose. HOWEVER a new clutch wont effect your driveline even if its a raceing clutch chevy showed me in there little warrenty thing. Stage 3 clutch and it wont effect driveline warrenty however they did get me for the rubber chunks in the wheel well. so they called it raceing and i was screwed.

OH..... the reason behind why a new clutch wont effect warrenty is because its a (wear item)...... same thing they say when your clutch gose out. " its not covered under warrenty cause its a wear item"... Well my response " its a wear item and has to be replaced you should void it all cause i have to replace a wear item" i love holding things aginst chevy for once.....

Get a short throw shifter man. One of the best mods I did to my car hands down. That and the KDW2's.

Does a short throw shifter cause premature wear on the tranny synchro's?
