OTT Stage 1 dyno numbers
Has anyone here taken the OTT stage 1 kit on the dyno yet? I just want to compare the OTT kit to my GM stage 2 kit and see what kind of difference there is as far as hp and power curve.
Any info would help guys, thanks |
nope i havent had mine dynoed yet but my interceptor gauge is reading about 325 crank. thats with ott stage 1, v2 header, catless stock downpipe, injen intake, oil breather, front mount h/e, with extra coolant resi. and 12.2 afr on 17 psi

Sean said in the group buy thread for the stage 1, 250~255 whp https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/supporting-vendor-deals-group-purchases-133/ott-stage-1-gb-148005/
right now id say your at maybe 230~235 whp. so their kit plus your exhaust you should be in the 260's. |

I dynoed my gm stage 2 and made 250whp with a 2.9 full exhaust on a dynojet

Is that you on youtube with the black ss/sc that ran 250? |
Think about it this way. You need to get bigger injectors when you get small enough pulleys. Failure to do so will lead to static injectors. Changing the pulley and/or injectors requires retuning. The proper exhaust will help any setup you have. OTTP is really the next step up from GM stage 2. However, since you already have the stage 2 belt, I'd probably trying looking around and pricing out individual parts to try and save a little money. Everything in the OTTP stage kit can be purchased seperately from OTTP too. I did a comparison and I think the OTTP stage kit only saves you a few dollars versus paying the parts individually.

Just thought I'd give you the specs on each stage kit:
OTTP Stage I: -60's Flowmatch Injectors -Nate's 2.8" Smoothflow Pulley -NGK 1 step colder Plugs -PCM Tune (depends on what mods you have) -Price = $425 or so GMPP Stage II: -42lb. Injectors -3" pulley -Smaller Belt -Reflash (adds more fuel to the powerband, and raises the rev limiter) -Price = $550 Right now, I'm running the OTTP stage kit, but with a 2.7" pulley. I basically went from stage none, to GMPP Stage II, to OTTP stage 1. Honestly, although I haven't gone WOT yet on the OTTP stage kit, I say it's the best bang for your buck. As far as dyno numbers, I've heard they're different depending on what dyno you use. But consistently, OTT has more gains than the GMPP kit. But that's a given when you consider they have a smaller pulley and bigger injectors than GMPP. |

Thanks for the info man, its good to hear from someone who actually went from a Stage 2 to the OTT kit. That's what I wanted to do, run the OTT kit with the 2.7 pulley, did you ask for that when you first ordered the kit?

K&N CAI GMPP Manifold ZZP DP Magnaflow Cat-back LS4 TB OTTP Stage 1 CX Racing Dual Pass HE I probably could have picked up 7-8 whp by replacing that GMPP exhaust manifold with a header. Those are pretty good numbers for a safe/reliable tune. Or I could have drove 40 minuets to a Happy dyno and put down higher numbers. Don't put too much emphasis on dyno numbers. Unless you have a baseline on the same dyno to compare them to. |

you don't necessarily need to do the h/e if you're not planning to run any smaller than a 3" pulley on it. At least that's what I was told by one of the OTT guys. Definitely do it if you decide to run the ott stage kit, dual pass if you can help it.
