OTTP kit question

Just got all my stuff today, and I just want to know the exact orientation of the 2.8" pulley. I am having a machine shop press off the stock pulley and press this one on, but I want to know exactly how it goes on before hand so they don't mess anything up.... Pictures would be fantastic

on the kit you don't press on the pulley you press the hub on then screw the pulley to it. And there is really only one logical way of doing it.

just out of curiosity you got any other mods than that pulley?

Yeah I know its just the hub on the stage 1 kit, but other than the OTTP kit and a dryflow AEM filter with the airbox mod no there are no other mods.

The hub and the pulley can both go on 2 different ways...

the hub will press on both ways, but it'll only align its self in one direction.

the proper direction should be painfully obvious.

if your not seeing it, bolt the ring on the to hub and look at how the belt aligns Vs the alt and idler.

the large face of the hub goes on the back side of the ring.

I didn't say he wont gain anything... he will have a good bit of power until he heatsoaks. then power will nosedive.

^^ Yup...

Just because you dont have a heat exchanger, doesnt mean your temps will rise to 180 deg iat2s in one pull.. ya know?

The car will run pretty nicely if its driven correctly.

But your not going to get the potential hp that he could if he doesn't have the supporting mods. Go ahead and throw it on there but Bika and I were just giving him a suggestion that he should pick up something to help with heatsoak.

@Shortstack: Truth hurts doesn't it? Just stating fact man....

He just said the same thing i said... You will have a substantial amount of power unless you start doing back to back passes.

Hey, how do you guys know that he doesn't just plan to only do one hard redline pull at a time, and wait AT LEAST an hour before the next one? Heatsoak--sheesh.

Thats what im saying..

If you daily drive.. and find the need to "pass" someone.. you arent going to heatsoak as soon as you hit the gas or anything...

BUT if you start "passing" one right after another, a few cars... then things might start getting a little hotter than they should...

Whatever,

like i said do what ever you want. No im not saying he plans on running it hard all the time but then again you don't know what he has planned for the car he could have the car for a daily driver and run it hard very little or he may be all about getting the most hp out of his car. so technically neither side is wrong. But attacking me because i stated a fact that if he runs the 2.9 without any cooling he will run eventually run into heatsoak.

Anyhow im done with this thread it is completly 10 to 1 on the subject.

Just curious why do you think they ask for some type of cooling mod when you go lower than a certain pulley size.

@schamsy: I noticed your running a heat exchanger on your car...What you got it for looks or becase it actually helps you out? Besides you have the right to your own opinion about me and i could careless :P

@shortstack: I meant that the truth is he could possibly run into heatsoak

Btw, to the guy that started this thread sorry about going over board with my statements. I was just trying to make a suggestion to try and get something for cooling in the future.

Yeah that is more than understandable, I appreciate your help on the matter trust me. I DO plan on getting an H/E very soon.

It is my DD, but I do not run it hard very often. I actually just finished installing everything and it all went pretty easily. Thanks for all the help guys
