OTTP mounts.. stage 1 or 2?

Which should I go with if I get the mounts? Also how much has everyone paid to have these installed?

what if I decide to take my car to the strip? I've gone once and I experienced some bad wheel hop.. I'm worried if I go back without mounts i'll break an axle or something. probably just go with the stage 2 mounts... they're like 100 bucks more

Well i personally don't have them. But if you have the cash to get stage 2 ones get them. You will be sent for when you hit high hp numbers.

yeah I can probably afford them, just depends on how much it will cost to have them installed. I'm guessing 100-200 dollar installation at a dealership? After installing these mounts my car will feel as if it has more HP simply due to all the power going to the ground, correct?

Install is actually very simple as long as you have access to hand tools and a jack. Air tools makes it a breeze. I could not imagine anyone charging more than a hour of labor standard rate is about $80/hr most places.

If I felt I was equipped to do the installation I would. I'd rather dish out the 80 bucks and have a professional do it! Motor mounts seem like the next logical performance upgrade, especially with my increased interest in drag racing.

No motor mount needed unless you like more vibes

lol, ive read the vibrations aren't too bad. You don't think motor mounts would help? The one time I've been to the drag strip I ran twice, the second time I had really terrible wheel hop.

The mounts solve the problem by themselves

So what's the best way to decide stage 1 or stage 2? On a daily driver, im guessing S1.

Stage one usually gets it done for most daily drivers, you could always upgrade at a later time if you wanted to visit the track more often

thats what it looks like.. from what everyone is saying the stage 2 mounts are the way to go. Looks like I wont be spending money on anything for the next couple of months..I'm going to order the stage 2 mounts once I get off work.

I have stage 2 and I absolutely love them. They will save your transmission from breaking in half.

They are rotated transmission mounts, not a motor mount. No the car does not feel like it has more power, but the power that I am making is able to actually STAY on the ground now lol. Before I would hop like a bunny down the track, now I don't hop unless I launch at way to high of an rpm with 40psi tire pressure lol.

I see..Sounds like they are worth getting if you race at the track..maybe i'll hold out on them for a bit

I love the s2 mounts. I dont feel more power but the car handles everything much better and, honsetly, i feel like my car is just more stable overall.

OTTP stage 1 is the best bang for the buck but I see you already have GM's stage 2. Maybe Sean or Josh will hook you up a wee bit if you buy the mounts and stage 1 together. They're both really good guys so I wouldn't be surprised if they did. If you dont wanna go with a smaller pulley, finish your exhaust setup with a header/dpipe combo. I've got the Vibrant setup and i like it a lot.

Quick Reply: OTTP mounts.. stage 1 or 2?
