Overall B&M Feel

Can someone gimme a review on the overall feel? Im not talking bout how the shift knob feels like crap. Im just curious how much shorter the throw feels. I also wanna know if the shifter is in neutral, does it move and wobble around alot and how is the side to side and the acutall placement when its in gear?

This is one of those things Id hate to buy and get it in the car and hate the feel of it.

ok first off i have to say that it does make the stock shifter so much better than before. it is a decent amount shorter. the only gripe i have with it is third gear. i miss 3rd almost all the time because i hit the gate. this may not be the shifter as much as the linkage and tranny tho. other than that it is SOOO much better then the stock one and i really have to say best investment.

3rd is touchy on the stock one. because the B&M is more accurate, it makes the touchiness even touchier, but it's not bad i don't think. everything feels a lot more direct and throws are shorter and more precise, definitely a good buy.

The gate for third is a bitch to master once you do you won't notice it anymore. I have the stock shifter still but I would imagine it is the same learning curve for the B & M

Man , I Love My B&m. The Only Thing I Hate About It Is The Fact That I Destroyed My Stock Shift Knob On The Installation Day. Lol

I have it and it's ok. It's pretty easy to install the hardest part is getting the shift knob off the stock shifter. I have not shift problems. It's a decent unit, but I don't think it's a vast improvement over stock. I got it as a xmas present, but if I had to get it with my own money I probably wouldn't.

There isn't a real problem with the stock shift that would warrent an upgrade.

Personally, I had a B&M shifter on my sunfire, which was a huge improvment over stock since stock the shifter was VERY tall and awkward, while the SS has a very short shifter stock, and it seems to be very precise. So all in all I will not be buying one anytime soon...
