Oversized Tensioner Pulley

Is anyone on here running one?
What'd you have to do to get it to fit?
I'm getting one with a 2.8 but looked on here and everyone said you have to modify the tensioner somehow, grinding part of it?
With what and how do you go about doing it?

hmm i'm wondering what all's involved in taking off the tensioner, since it is connected to that "spring" and all..
and how did you guys know when to call it quits on the dremeling?

to get it off only needs the 2 bolts tooken off, i used a hand grinder to grind down the three spots, took less time an turned out better. i just kept puttin the pulley on and off to check clearanc

once you get the bracket off put the pulley on an youll know the three spots im talkin about

There is 2 star bolts its very easy to take off then just put the new pully on the bracket outside the car . And you will see what you need to grind down and just keep grinding a little at a time and re testing till it sits flush like the original and turns smoothly on the bolt and it isnt making contact with the tensioner bracket .Or if youre not into this kinda work just buy a stage 2 belt buts its not as hard as it looks

I got an electric hand grinder, no dremel but my buddy has one.
I just wanna know where to grind at and everything, if it's not correctly grinded the whole way the new tensioner pulley won't fit on right, right?

yes, take it off put the pulley on an youll see. ez as hell, use the hand grinder trust me.

the pulley wont spin cuz near the bottom there are 3 pieces of metal stickin up blockin it to set flush an spin

trust me just pull it off and put the new pully on you can figure out where to grind you will see the new pully wont sit flush with the bracket and grind till you can bolt the pully on it and spin it freely

alright nice so the determining factor of if it's right or not is if it sits vertically correctly and is able to spin flush?

what do you need the oversived tensioner pully for?, imo its alot easier to just run the gm stg2 belt, or an adjustable tensioner,

yah take it off, i tried to do it on the car took for ever, still didnt get it all the way but most of the way( just had a slight rub but ran fine), said **** it and put the stock one back on and ordered a stage 2 belt. It probably would have been a 2 min job if i would have taken it off
