Pacesetter header!!! PICS Turbotec...

OK I bought the new pacesetter header for my balt. I am VERY impressed w/ the quality of it. I just think its kinda big.... Could I have recieved the wrong one? I mean I have seen my bro's header and held it in my hands, and its no where near the size of this thing. What on earth!

here are the pics.

Wow, that looks good. It's more of a mid length header than a shorty. Installing will be tricky though, definitely won't bolt to the stock DP.

Do you plan on doing and before and after dyno?

it's long because it's not a direct replacement... it needs to be cut and welded to the downpipe

It love my pacesetter! It looks great, and fit pretty good. I just got all new exhaust with the header to avoid the problem with not bolting to stock exhaust components. I got it almost a month ago and installed it 2 weeks ago, AND NO LEAKS!!!

EDIT* I should warn you, that little badge thing on the far right tube that says the part # and stuff will get in your way. It makes it really hard to get a socket wrench straight in there. My friend told me and I got my header without that little badge.

IM gonna have a friend who works at Meinekee install it for me. He put on my bro's header, and is a professional welder. As soon as I get my car back from the dealer (has been 5 days...) for my sunroof to be fixed I will be having it installed. I will keep my stock header and stock cat/downpipe as backups

what, you mean all the other headers aren't held together by wads of chewing gum too?

in all seriousness, it comes down to you get what you pay for.... i have the pacesetter cat back, and i love it... if the header was a direct replacement, i would proabably have that by now too..

i'm glad your happy with them, i dont like how the o2 bung is on the bottom, just asking for years of replacement sensors .. the primaries are too small... and they yellow after a week in every car i've seen them in. I dont think the pacesetter people even TRY to make a good product..

hey, but for $150 you cant beat it, right?

haha... probably not... but it's like anything, if you take care of it, it will be ok... i keep my catback clean, and check it regularly, and so far so good... it looks like it's holding up better than my stock exhaust did...

IMO, I got the header for $160, and the CTI header is like $700 or some rediculously over priced rip off. The pacesetter may not be as good a header, but the $540 left over will make up the difference

I think the header looks fine. I mean seriously the inside is going to be covered in black stuff anyway so is it really gonna matter? Outside quality is fine, and welds look great. Tubing seems pretty big, and the O2 sensor being in the collector is probably a more accurate way of judging then having it in just 1 pipe.

I still dont have my car back yet (go figure)

so as soon as I do, I will have it installed and give you all a heads up. I bought mine from turbotec, and did the 2000+ degree coating, so it was more then 150 bucks.

I personally have this header installed on my car. It is a great piece of equipment I had to do some cutting and welding of the cat to get it to bolt up but boy is it worth it. I would recc this part to anyone looking for serious gains it will cause your boost to go down but it makes up for it.
