I was reading through this thread and wondering when someone was going to make this coment. A 2.2 is not going to keep up with most GTI's. Even a stock one a few years old will still beat you. From what I understand, they are pretty easy to mod and make fast. If it was the newest GTI, they are similar performance to the SS/SC stock i think.

There were SOME with the 2-point-slow motor that a 2.2 could kill, but as a rule of thumb no, the 2.2 will not be competitive with a GTI. Not to mention if those things are chipped they make insane amounts of power.

I couldn't believe that I made the third page without someone saying this.

Yeah, don't feel bad you lost to a GTI. They're quick.

Your 17k (or however you got it loaded) car lost to one thats over 25k. Not a huge loss.
