Pillar Removal Question

Ok. I will be recieving my new Aeroforce Gauge really soon. I went through a trial run and took the screw out of the pillar. I start pulling on the pillar to take it off but it seems as if there's something else that's holding the pillar besides the screw. Are there clips? I don't want to break anything so I didn't pull that hard. How do I get the pillar off??

PULL, it will come away from the pillar a bit, then you kinda rotate it down towards you a few degrees, then it slides out.

Oh, one more question....When pulling it off, should I pry it at the very top of the pillar (like where it meets the roof of the car) or pull it from the center of the pillar?

Not to bring up a dead thread, but does this apply for the passenger side as well?

grab it from the center and top and after you loosen it from the top pull up if you can to get it out from under the groove where it meets the dash
