Ok so maybe a week ago i put in my new zzp s3 intercooler and I did the airbox mod. Well anyways I was driving home in the middle of a thunderstorm after i drove over an hour then ate somewhere and maybe 30 to 45 min headed home, well I turned on my ac/defrost so I could see in the storm and I very quickly around this time started to smell something as if it was burning rubber or burnt hair just that nasty burnt smell.... So I immediatley thought it was subs and stuff in the trunk, and this seemed wheret he smell is the strongest...possibly idk for sure but i also turned the rear defrost on when I majorly started smelling it... I also just painted my tailights yesterday and used a reverse light off of an old trunk that I used for practice but anyways I just didn't want to leave out any details. My coolant seemd alright and subs sounded like they were working fine and I just drove the same amount of distance 2 days ago and everything was fine but I didn't do anything with the tailights yet. I actually think it might becoming from them, Idk I'm freaking out because I spent way to much on my subs for something to go wrong but they are hitting fine and I took them out and they seem to be wired correctly...
but i'm goiing insane! please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

loud but not freakishly loud, I have two Memphis M3s 12 inch 500 rms a peice, powered by a 700 watt JL mono amp...They are fairly new too...maybe a couple months old..I didn't think they would be heating up if they were each a 1000 peak... and there m3s so they should have pretty true wattage idk.
I do have it on +15db and level 12 bass boost which is as high as it can go on both of em...idk its freakin me out kuz all together i spent 1200 on my sound system and im scared something in screwed up...but nothing sounds distorted or bad or anything....
If there still new they will smell like that if you pound them. My two 12" type r's still do it If I crank them up for a bit. I had them for a while but don't use them that much. so It's normal if it is the subs and should go away eventually.
Or just adjust them a bit to not hit as hard.

Its your subs.. What kind of box are they in ? Just be careful you can burn the voice coil out and it will smoke and really stink.. your prob pushing them a little to hard just bring the gain down some..
Ya I found out its my subs. I asked the audio store that I bought em from and they told me that I should turn my amp to 80 hrz and turn the gain to 80%.. Its a custom box that they built. and its sealed.
