Ported/Polished S/C

So i installed the the s/c I ported and polished today and took the car for a nice test drive. The car seems to be making the same amount of power or a little less, I cant realy tell. The car pulls a lot harder in 3rd gear than it used to. and the boost gauge is reading about 12-13 psi where before it was ported was reading about 15-16 psi.

so far im happy with it!

i dunno, i took off so little material, you would never know it was ported, so its not like i fucked it up or anything. the car runs great, a lot smoother now. and the s/c is a little louder.

why would you porte and polish a s/c when you loss boost and make less power just to make the inside smoother? or am i missing something?

i only said i think it feels like its making less power, im not sure because today was 95 degrees out, and i havent really pushed the car in the heat yet. Its not even noticeable.

and the reasoning is less boost=less heat. less heat= lower IAT's. If you can make the same amount of power on less boost, why not?

huh i figured porting a blower would help make more boost and its suppose to help with keeping your AIT2 temps cooler

more boost isnt always a good thing. if his work is providing less backpressure within the blower and cooling the intake charge its probably making more power (correct?) you can make more efficient boost

more efficient boost is what i was going for. Opening up the blower a little, makes it more efficient. I also smoothed out the lip on the inlet side by where the throttle body bolts up.

Heat is the enemy 4E

yeah man, the blower thats ported on my car right now is actually one of Joe's. Its not hard at all, you just want to make sure not to take too much material off. it took me quite a few hours to do. Its all about patitence and a steady hand.

Retard, I've had a ported housing for a while, you should have said something. I am going to kick you square in the nuts next time I see you for all the trouble your car has given me. Trans is out again right now (3rd time), the brand new slave is blown out/leaking. Can't see any visible damage to it, so it must have just failed internally.

That much of a boost drop does seem odd to me though... Could be the weather, it was hot as **** today.

The blower is from Brandons car. Geeze, do you even pay attention??

(ignore the hostility, its coming from your car. <3 )
