Is it possible for a tune to "go bad"?

Mods: 2.8, 60's, Stage 2 belt, CTI header/catted downpipe, meagan exhaust, RAW 3" CAI, OTTP Heat exchanger, Tuned by OTTP.

When I first installed everything:
AFR @ Cruise: 14.3-15.8
WOT: 10.0
Boost PSI: 17lbs

After about a week:
AFR @ Cruise: 13.5-15.2
WOT: 10.0
Boost PSI: 15lbs

After about a month:
AFR @ Cruise: Dipping from 11.2 to 15
WOT: 10.0
Boost PSI: 13lbs

I have no access what so ever to HPtuners, so I can't log while I'm driving. I've had a few hesitations issues within the first 30 seconds of driving at times, and today it almost fell flat on it's face when I shifted into second. However, when the engine warmed up a bit, I no longer have those issues.

Any idea WTF is going on? The belt is not slipping, clutch is still good, yet I'm somehow loosing boost and the car is getting choked it seems like. I hardly ever drive the car hard. (outside of the first week I installed everything.) so it's just weird that I keep loosing PSI/power as time goes on.

could be maf sensor, leak in the header/dp or exhaust, hoses, spark plugs...to many unknowns. Does any CEL come on?

it could be richer than 10 depending on your wideband

Nope, no CEL's what-so-ever. As much as I'd love to have someone check out the OTTP tune, I don't necessary have the money to drop down. Kind of need this set up to work.

and I have the typical AEM wideband.

oh, and the car only has 25k miles on it if that matters at all.

then you have an exhaust leak, theres no way you're going to loose boost unless you have a leak somewhere or your belt is slipping

check your exhaust and vacuum lines

AEM only reads to 10.0 flat.. So your a/f could be in the 8's and 9's.. Get it fixed.

i do indeed have a leak at the header, but as the car warms up, the tick goes away. (i'm assuming the gasket is expanding). another ****-quality product i bought.

Tunes can't go bad guys.....physical parts break, injectors, plugs, mafs, those are physical parts that can break. An ecu/pcm could break, but a tune in itself can not go bad.

I've gone through 2 engines now and my experiance is this, if your tune is slipping of boost is lessoning there is usually only one or two reason's. A, the pistons/rings are leaking or two the valve guides are leaking at higher RPMS. Call me crazy but this is what I've noticed. My car has 29K on it and I've gone through two engines, please trust me. A sure shot way to know if this is the case is to perform a leak down check this is a procedure i've com to now very well! Good luck brother...

The plan right now is to go meet up with Wicked Saturday and have him take a look at my car; get it scanned and retuned. I can safely say, I'll never trust a canned tune from anyone. The fact I run so rich has worried me from day 1.

I thought I remember reading somewhere that running rich can cause a loss of cylinder compression or something. Maybe I misread that.

If it seems fine, I'm willing to bet its nothing major.

I'd be looking for leaks, cleaning my maf, and checking my WB calibration..

Considering the car drives perfectly fine, minus not hitting max boost like i used too, after it hits full operating temp I was never extremely worried about it. Now hearing the couple horror stories worries me.

I haven't even been driving it after I noticed the problems. Saturday when I take it to Sandusky will be the first time I took it anywhere since my 10 minute trip to wal-mart Monday.

God praying it's just a problem with the tune.
