power question

ok here is my question. i have heard a lot of things about the stock motor only being good for 300hp because the pistons will not hold any more then that? and i have also heard that 300hp can not be achived with out bulding the motor or swaping out the supercharger for bigger one or turbo? i really would like to know this because as of now i have full exhaust gm stage 2 with 2.79 pulley k&n cold air. and i want to add after cooler get 60# injectors with meth 2.5 pulley and dual pass intercooler plate. and get it all tunned. at this point should i be worried about frying a piston or having somting go wrong. or should i just go ahead and plan on building the motor? thanks for your help guys

You're gonna be making a lot of heat with that much boost out of the M62.

It's not the fact that the engine can't take the power... it just can't take the heat... there's a subtle difference. The M62 is just a big heat pump at high boost levels. The serious guys on here talk about swapping to a twin-screw or turbo b/c it makes less heat.

not yet... give it time to get finalized... they've proven that it works... just needs fine tuning.

handle it?

You can change the pulley size on the twin-screw to make as much or as little boost as you want to... the SC dosen't make HP without the pulley.
