Power steering question/problem... Help
hey guys i was driving to work this morning and all of a sudden my power steering goes, the light turns on in my dash.... so i decied to turn the ignition switch off and then on again while i drive just to see what happens since its controlled electroniclly and it starts working again for a period of time then the same thing happens..... has this happen to anyone before..... any advice would be great guys.... Thanks
you know i seen a video on youtube one time of a cover story for some news channel i forgot what state, but they did a story on the cobalts having powersteering problems, i wanted to download the video and take it to a dealership and show them since i have flip up dvd radio
a new motor costs $580 i think , then you got labor, you will pay around $1000, drive it for a week without powersteering, you will get use to it

The recall is free but not all vehicles are under the recall. The dealership can look it up using your VIN to see if your car is under the recall. All you have to do is call the service department (well at the dealer I work at anyways) with your VIN and they can tell you in a few minutes if your car is in the recall or not.
Or, you can post your VIN and I can look it up for you. I have access to the information to see if it's within the VIN break of the recall.
The 06 Cobalt VIN's are between 67600001 - 67887446. And not all Cobalts between these VINs are under the recall.
