Problem at high rpms. Sputter?

Yesterday, floored it in 2nd and at around 5500 rpms, the car acted up. I guess you could say it sputtered? Hesitated for a second. definitely noticeable. A friend that was with me said it felt like it hit fuel cut lol. Stepped on it again like 5 min later and it ran like a champ so i kinda shrugged it off. But then today it did it again at 5-6k rpms in 1st gear. Sounded like a "pop" today when it did it. I'm running one step colder plugs gapped at like .035...never had any problems like this before. Haven't changed anything lately on the car. No check engine lights either.

I've been running the same tune for a couple months. Tuned by Josh at OTTP.

It's a common occurrence. Not a huge deal unless it happens frequently.

If you have access to HPTuners, do a log and post it.

Why is it a common occurrence? I've never had the problem before. Do you know what causes it?

It's a common problem but its not normal. Are you seeing an increase in boost by any chance? That would lead me to believe it could be a clogged cat. If there isn't an increase in boost then start off by changing your spark plugs and gapping them at .035. Make sure there the ngk bkr7e's. Also run a couple bottles of heet through your gas tank and run the gas as empty as you can and refill up at a new station with 93 octane. Make sure its not bad gas and not bad plugs. After that try the fuel filter and air filter.

unless your plugs are fouled or your air filter looks like ****, I'm going to say its just a case of a lil knock.

I'm going to pick up a new set of plugs and see if that could be it, but they are only a few months old. Running rich can cause the plugs to foul correct? Because I'm seeing mid 10s for AFR. Maf calibration is off I believe and it's causing it to run rich.

since you have new, colder plugs, gapped at .035, and you are in the mid 10s AFR u probly just had a quick spark blow out. It's rich, but not plug fouling rich.
