Progress sway bar install...

I must have over tightened one of the nuts and snap... you think I can run with 1 bolt on one side and 2 on the other until I can get a replacement?

You will be fine they used grade 8 bolts, One will hold for a little while but I wouldnt keep it that way. Get it fixed asap and dont take corners sharp to test it out until you get it fixed.

AutoZone had the bolt in stock... all is good. You can definitely tell a difference, highly recommended.

Is there any chance that such a suspension component might change or increase tire wear on the vehicle?

And...why wasn't there a rear swaybar in the first place? Was there a technical reason for that?

that i couldent tell you. if anything the rear adjustable sway bar from bwoody would help with every thing. even tire wear becuase it helps the rear wheels track so much better its not even funny. i have an 07 silver rl comp pack. i went with sms progress springs and front STB. and the bwoody rear. car handles like its on rails..

I would not ride like that at all. It will cause an unstable rear end in the car.

thats how the car was before the brace and bar got put on. unstable. you help wheel tracking you help traction. under extreme cornering.. or does better wheel tracking not mean better traction from the rear end???

I have not even begun to go near the handling limits on this car.

I was thinking about the rear sway bar, but I just don't know if there is any "gotcha" to using it yet. Wish I could talk to a GM Cobalt SS/SC engineer...it would be great to ask that question.

What great peices they are. I can't wait for my Bwoddy to get in. I thought the car handelled great before. Love the way the car handels now. My buddy w/ an STi said my car handeled better than his, and I had snow tires on. I can't say enough that I think the eibach pro-kit is the way to go though.

There already is a "rear sway bar" on the SS SC, it's hidden inside the rear beam. The reason why it's not a thicker or "more stable" bar is primarily because automakers produce cars that tend to understeer. This is mainly done for safety reasons, it's better fora novice to have a car that understeers, srubs off speed, and then recovers rather than a car that spins out when a mistake is made.

This bar SHOULD NOT cause any more wear and tear on the car above normal however it will cause you to push the car more while giggling like a school girl. Expect stickier tires to come as a result
