Project 12's

K, so I got some good news my dad is handing over his 94 Concorde with sub 100K miles to me. Actully it might have less then 75K on it last time i drove it i think it had 73k on it

Anyway! thats good for me i have a car to get around in the winter, and that means i can make my 07 balt a fast little effer.

i know there has to be 100 threads and ways to do this and i know stage 2 itself with driver mod can get a cobalt in the 13's what has to be done to it to drop a SS/sc to the 12's? i dont nessarry have to do this the cheep way, Id rather do it the smart way so my engine, trans, or clutch dont blow up

would a stage 5 CA kit with suporting clutch do the trick? do i need to put work into my trans? im looking for a comfortable 12.5 in the 1/4th, yes ill have Dr's and dampering mods aswell

i know alot of ppl have balts that run 12's and are easly street legal thats what im looking for, minding you i'll only be driving the car from april till september

and a final question how much cash is it all gunna cost, its really not a problem for me..id just like a base line

thanks!

A 2.5" Pullied cobalt with meth, full exhaust, intake, and a good tune will net you 12s. Oh dont forget clutch, axles and maybe other Bwoody stuff.

you need axles. no one really knows about the tranny, its about like the pistons.... who knows what the limit is

going with GM stuff probably wont get oyu there. No since in a stage 2 kit because you will need more of a tune for 12's

stage2/gm manifold/gm exhaust/free intake mod/ca down pipe with cat 2.5 netted me a 13.7 @103 with a 2.2 60ft

I have no suspension mods what so ever stock tires blah blah so take .2 off the 60 ft with some suspension mods your at a 13.5.
I now have hp tuners so i can get a good tune on it.

Now also think of throwing some slicks/drag radials on and you COULD be there.

It doesnt take much to get these cars into the 12s.

Axles are HUGE on these cars tho in the fact that they love to snap. So i would reccommedn getting them befoer you plan on going fast.

IMO 12s is not very hard to get. I say GM stage 3 kit running 100 octane is a great start. Upgraded axles, diamond forged pistons, 50 shot of no2, slicks, cai, exhaust, header, downpipe, high flow cat, and water meth injection should put you easly put you into 12s. Some GM stage II cars with full bolt on and drag radials and grabbing real low 13s. Good luck.

P.S. Forget to mention the suspension mods. Engine and tranny mounts, and ingall's td would be helpful with traction bars. Good luck.

No, not yet. I don't see any reason why this setup couldn't go 12.5's with a well prepped track and lot's of practice. With the PB and TB, this car should be trapping ~112mph, which is plenty of mph for a 12.5x. I hope to prove this-this year, once the track finally opens.

What Bad06SS said or blower or turbo swap, IMO I wouldnt waste your time with the Twincharged, too much tuning involved. You can also add a 75 wet shot to this but pistons will probally be needed around 350+/-hp. Clutch and axles aswell.....etc... I think its all been said already....

see im also in NJ and alot of this stuff i dont recal as legal on the roads,

i want to do this minus nitrious, minus swaping for a turbo

im thinking the biggest help would be traction mods atm

with full exhuast intake CA stage 5 with clutch should do it...my best guess with out getting to much computer tuning and bs
