PSI only goes up to 10? :(

I was reading in another thread a few people had this problem. Am I not pushing the car enough? I always make sure to let it heat up to at least 80 before I get on the throttle to give her a push but I think 8 or even 9 is the highest I've been. I dont go all the way to redline but where should I be getting this boost? Am I not pushing it hard enough, I go about 6 grand in 2nd heavy on the pedal and im only boosting at about 8 psi.

I know there are a lot of issues with the blowers but I thought I'd put it out here first

well first are you reading on a digital gauge or machanical .... also is it a by wire or by pressure gauge? and have you tried letting it reach close to redline?

Try again you should be getting 90kpa. Thats what I get in Ottawa.

I get 90 right away in 3rd WOT. Sometime almost 100 depending on how my car is running.

To answer both. I am reading off of my boost gauge which is mechanical.

WOT ? I dont know the term since I suck But 90 and 100? I've read that everyone has the boost gauge bouncing off the limiter when they push it??

WOT = Wide Open Throttle. And there is no limiter on the boost gauge (well other than you run out of numbers past a certain pressure).

It was 3210 miles on my odometer the first time I read 12 PSI.

i useually read like 13-13.5 psi when i was on it.

check and make sure that when your car is off that the gauge is reading zero, if its off by a bit that will make a difference ...... the most amount of boost is just before redline

I will check that out, so red as in all the way red 8k, or just entering the redzone (Aka 6k +)

You'll bounce off the rev limiter at 6250, That's redline.

Yea, I just remembered I had this thread from a while back.

It sits at 0 when car is off.

& I have gone as far as bouncing off the rev limiter.

Its so frustrating. I get 8psi.

Does your stock guage read Kpa or Psi? If you have an aftermarket mechanical guage there is a good chance the guage could be wrong.

I'm using the stock gauge.

Haven't noticed it going above 80 kpa (I refer to to KPA and PSI as same but I go KPA/10)

I will have to push again with 3-5th.

I wouldn't worry about it. I usually only got around 10psi too before I got my pulley. Even when I had my pulley on it would average around 13.5psi on the stock gauge and I would rarely hit 15psi near redline. Now with the Aeroforce gauge it reads anywhere between 15.4-15.6psi near the top of the powerband.

?? Not sure, how do I figure that.

Also,

right now 8 or 80 is my max.

I am considering taking it to the dealer. I mean the car is rated at 12 and WOT in any gear can't get me past 8. Thats 1/3rd of performance that I am missing out on (from the blower anyhow).

How can that not bother a person.

Isn't 80kpa closer to 11.5psi?

Ok then you don't have to worry about high elevation stealing your PSI. I bet all you have to d is take it to the dealer and have them recalibrate it. Several on here have done that and it has fixed it.

For all of you still only seeing 10-10.5psi are your is your boost gauge zeroing when you turn the key to the ACC position?

My gauge was 1.5psi off due to the fact that it was never truly zeroing, the gauge was replaced and my problems were gone.

Oh you meant ground elevation relative, as in atmospheric pressure etc.

I know well what that is lol. I just figured you meant some sort of angle on the motor or something.

In fact, Ottawa is in a valley.

I will take it in to the dealer when I have a chance.

It is still winter so I guess it can wait.

I picked up the car at the beginning of December basically. Do you guys think I should go asap , I mean will I get a hard time.
