Which pulley?

So far I have a stage 2 kit and ingalls tourque dampener installed on my car. I want to get a Nates pulley, but what size is best. I dont want to buy new injectors or get a tune now because I just had the kit installed.

I fugure I can just swap them off before I take it into the dealer. I am looking anywhere from the 2.8 to the 2.9...Which one would be the best idea and wouldnt need any other supporting mods?

2.9 .... people do 2.85 but thats really pushing it. i have a 2.8 with 60#s on a custom tune and i am really riding the edge of needing cooling mods. so it sounds like a 2.9 would suit you well.

I'm running a 2.8 and stage II injectors but my altitude here is 3500 feet. I haven't had any issues at all.

I have gm stage 2 with a 2.85 ive been running it that way for about 6 months and im fine. but i also have a cobra h/e my injector duty cycle gets to about 110 at 7100 rpm but if i shift at like 6800 im fine its not that bad.

i have 2.9 with 42# ers and my IDC is 110-115 at 6400... FAIL! go 2.8 and 60's or 2.9 with 60's ...

Maybe this has to do with tuning? If you command a leaner afr, wouldnt your idc's go down? What afr are these 2 cars tuned for? That being said, if your keeping the stage 2 tune your car is commanding a much richer afr and probably gonna see very high idc's if I'm not mistaken.

I want to know what idc's people are getting with 42#'s a 2.9 and meth with a tune for around 11.7 to 11.9afr. Mainly beacuse thats what I want to start running this fall, but I dont wanna jack this guy's thread so if someone has the answer to this shoot me a pm, thanks.

Wow 6 months old guys...lol...anyway I went with the 2.9 and in about two weeks I am gonna get my car tuned for the 2.8 with 60s.

How much money do you have to spend???

I would go with a 2.8 60s and a cobra heat exchanger.. you will be fine!

oh ok gotcha

2.9 is the lowest you should go without upgrading to 60lbers. Also, this will be pushing your idc's pretty high. Depending on your tune, even though its a gm stage 2 tune, they can slightly differ, and climate etc. But depending on your stuff, your idc's could be over 100%, watch that.

Haha...look at when I made this post....February....Thanks though...lol

SlowBalt_06 07-28-2008 11:46 PM

you can run a 2.3 no problem.. go for it make sure you use stock plugs though

flash13brandon 07-28-2008 11:46 PM

Is dropping to a 2.9 even worth it if you have a stage 2 pulley...noticeable benefits?

Zach06CobaltSC 07-28-2008 11:48 PM

ehhh the 2.9 slights you a little bet time, but mainly the thing you will notice is the sound kicking in slightly sooner and the boost hits harder and sooner.

flash13brandon 07-28-2008 11:55 PM

alrite so it sounds like a good idea...but im also in FL at sea level so i dont wanna run my injectors static......what you think?

Zach06CobaltSC 07-29-2008 12:12 AM

personally if it were me mate i would stay with the stage 2 pulley. It really isnt worth pushing your injectors that hard for a little extra boost. Your 1/4mile times would barely drop, and you would heat soak even faster.

My 2 cents is its not worth it, especially if you dont have cooling mods.
