Question for the 2.0L guys. (Exhaust)

Ok, as some of you know, I have an SS exhaust on my 2.2L.

Now my question is:

As we all know your cars run on average 10 - 14 lbs of boost.

Since I have the exact same exhaust as you now, in theory it should be good on a 2.2L for at least 6 psi right?

Comment plz.

WHAT????

If your talking about boosting your 2.2 yea the SS exhaust would be fine for about 250hp.

He should be good for past that, we are, why wouldn't he be(just curious)? That exhaust is fine for boosting.

WOw. He thinks the exhaust is giving him "Boost". You have no supercharger and no turbocharger.... You are creating NO boost.

I think he meant if he did add f/i to the car.. and yes it should support that (250 hp) I would think since thats at least what I'm puttin down.

I know that. I'm not stupid. I was asking since your cars run boost stock and since I have the same exhaust I could also support around the same amount of boost on my motor WHEN I get a turbo or supercharger.

Well the SS exhaust should be fine for the most power you can put out without blowing up your 2.2

Which would be about 260 to the wheels. And that might be getting a little risky unless you have a good tune.

But why would you keep a restrictive exhaust on your car. Just cause it came on our cars doesnt mean its a good exhaust. Its better then yours stock but not even close to a strait though exhaust. If your going to put that much money into F/I, you better get a new exhaust.

When the time comes I'll change what needs to be changed. Most likely the muffler and whatever else ends up being a restriction.

all you need to change is a straight throuh muffler and the piping at the axle where it changes to 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" then it's as good as any cat. back exhaust being sold for the SS ( interms of performance not sound )
but if it comes to that point, you might as well change to a 3" so you'll be ready for anything.
