question about plugs
question about plugs
i just switched from autolite platnium to ngk 1 step colder and when i pulled out the autolites i noticed a white substance on the plug and a little red or orange near the bottom of the plug what do these colors mean i've heard that orange or redish is just a chemical burn
oh and the autolites where gapped at 39 and i gapped the ngk at 38 since i dropped pulley size. does this sound right?
almost looked like white powder but not powder

oh well what about the plugs i have i re gapped them at .35 seems to be running pretty good..but what about the white...i heard white means too lean which i doubt its that with the stage 2 tune or too hot...which 1 step colder should take care of that right?
can someone please help me out here
and i know have the one step colder copper..shouild they still be gapped at .35????? any one please help give me a range to be in or someothing or someone that is running these pllugs in a simialer set up to mine

and i understand that but do you really think thats the case the car runs great...could the white just mean too hot
can you upload a pic of the plug so i can see... multiple readings can be done by looking at the plug..i need to see the coloration of the white.. where it is.. how it fits.. and the rest
Yeah, you need to post a pic of the plug if you want it read, a description really doesn't help.
yea thats how mine where almost the porcielan part looked fine a little brown and black actually a little orange too... but no i can't uplaod pics...i'm on a gm stage 2 tune tho i highly doubt its lean unless my catless downpipe is effecting it like i said tho she runs fine no problems
no bogging either...i don't know i'm probably over reacting....its probably just too hot
would that actually hust the car tho or just the plugs
no i looked at all those already and what i got from them was too hot or too lean...so thats why i'm here really dosen't look like any of them tho.
