question about supercharger spacer

hey every one i was looking on the intense web site and notcied the supercharger spacer and was wondering where it says it will take up belt slack, how much would that really be? how about how much with a 2.9 pulley? Would you recomend any thing to go with this to make it function better like should i continue to look for a smaller belt and larger idler pully...kurt

How thick is the spacer? Multiply by 2 and that how much of the belt is getting used up.

I thinks its about a 1/2 but if your just runnin a 2.9 get the gm stg II belt (30 sumthing $'s at www.cobalt-addiction.com) ... thats more for a 2.5 pulley also gives a little more plenum volume... ( little more top end)

the spacer, it's not much though

<edit> the volume is important to keep down spikes and provide a more constant flow for higher end turbo setups. our blowers are moving a little below 117liters per second more than than our motors are displacing (just comparing numbers, not calculating in heat and resistance factors), at those numbers, being belt driven you wouldn't see the benefits of it.

The Spacer is probably not going to do anything but be something to put down in your signature block.

I would agree, but Intense said that the spacer was designed so that N20 and Water/Meth kits could be injected post supercharger. That was the real point of it, not to take up slack in the belt or increase plenum volume.
