Quick Question
Quick Question
Hey guys, Long time since I have posted, Getting ready to build the motor finally, I am wondering, what is a good pully size to run with the GM stage 3? is it safe to run a 2.7, or 2.6 with it? more less, what size can i run on 42 lbs injectors? And who makes one that fits the Stage 2 hub, I am upgrading from 1-2 in a week or so, and then going to 3. I am going to upgrade to 60lbs over the winter, when I tear the block down. Also, as far as parts go, I would like to run about 21 psi of boost, I intend on getting new axles, lower compression pistons, new rods, and completely rebuild the valvetrain. All in all, I am shooting for between 400-450 hp, and will be running a 50 shot of nitrous. I dont care about the cost, but I would like some input on what stuff is good, where I can get it, and also what compression would be the best. I am intending on getting cams, I have the GMPP Exhaust, and am looking for a good hp vs. cost header. I am going to get traction bars in a few weeks, along with a few other parts. All input is appreciated, IM me even at italstalnprd86 on aol. Thanks guys, as always I will keep you posted
first of all...nothing past a 2.8 with 42.5lbs. i have heard of people blowing up with a 2.8 but others say its safe. you def need 60's and a good tune. if your running low compression pistons, you shouldn't have a problem running the 2.6 and nitrous.
Dont waste your money on all the stage kits. Buy stage 1 and go with a 2.9 pulley, or go full custom. You can get a pulley/hub combo for about $100 and injectors/harness(42lbers) for less then $200. Stage 2 belt for $38? and custom tune for roughly $250-300. Plus if you get the Stage 3 PCM, its locked. You wont be able to go back and retune for larger injectors later on. You would need to put your old PCM back. Huge waste of money and time.
A 2.9 pulley with 42's and a full 3" exhaust put down some nice numbers for a really nice price. but if your going to rebuild the motor with lower compression i wouldnt waste your money on the M62 at all. I would look into TwinScrew or turbo swap. You will get MUCH more for your money.
