quick question take a moment....

i am going to be running a 3.0 pulley, from zzp...airbox mod... and a smaller belt soon. it says that a step colder spark plugs will help stop knock. there only like 10-15 bucks... can i just throw them on there. and still not get a tune. or to lean?? i wont tune untill i get the 42lbs and smaller pulley with a header and d.p

With stock injectors and a 3" you will blow your engine. Stop taking the cheap way out. Do it right

injectors are most important..that determines the pulley size u can run...bigger injectors smaller pulley, and a tune is a MUST

f that. warranty is up soon. plus with the gm stage two.. i cant up grade pulley size.. unless i go thru like pulley boys or ****. i allready have the pulley mod system coming in two days. id rather make my own little stage kit. gm s2 puts out decent numbers but not for what i want.

and bro no offense but arent you stock??

hehehe...oh course..i dont put money into a car ..waste of money and time

42lbs injectors smallest pulley size is 2.8
60lbs injectors smallest pulley is 2.5

u need a tune with all of those...thats just the basics...

Why did you post if you don't want to listen to our answer's? Put it on and see what happens but don't complain if you blow your motor.

^a lot of information has emerged since that thread.

if you want to have a quick, reliable car you cannot take any shortcuts. you are going to at least need injectors and a tune if you purchase a smaller pulley.

if you want to futher enhance your new mods you can do I/H/E of your choice.

take some time and read some posts before you make any decisions. is the cost of a blown motor worth the 200-300 dollars for injectors and a tune?

hope this helps...

not trying to offend you, but you may last a few weeks without a tune or injectors, but you will damage the motor in doing so

there many factors that determine how your engine will function with that setup. it isnt guaranteed that you will blow your motor but it is certain that it will not be good for it. your elevation, the weather, and how you drive your car are just some of the factors that play into it. your IDC's will be too high to run that setup for long before your engine goes

ok no prob.

IDC=injector duty cycle

think of it as how hard your injectors have to work to supply the correct amount of fuel. anything over 100% is detrimental and the injectors go static (lose control) at 120%

hence why you are being advised to go with larger injectors so they do not have to "work" as hard to supply the car with fuel.

from what i heard is that if you are not beating on your car.. and not redlining it constantly that i should be fine... def since of short of a period i would be running them... in btw 6500 and up i think is when its most prone to become static.... and if im shifting before hand... eh idk im about to not even install. now super pissed

Why would you be super pissed? First mods and fuel mods have been discussed a hundred times already in this forum on a daily basis.

you sir are correct about most injectors going static about 6500rpm.

BUT you are still overworking your engine just driving normally. i would personally most definetly get injectors and a tune but that is totally up to you.

you car may be alright for a short time period. it may not.

whatever you decide good luck and i hope i was able to help you out. feel free to ask or pm me if you have any more questions.

I didnt think he was being "snappy".

It seems to me you're trying to move too fast. Take your time, search the forums, and come up with the right combination of mods for YOURSELF (of course asking questions along the way) instead of just buying whatever your buddy says will work. Like the old saying goes "If you want something done right, do it yourself."

Right now you need to get a little more humble, realize where you are at, and mod accordingly. Don't try to get ahead of yourself just because you spent money and want to play NOW.

Just some advice. Take it or leave it.

[QUOTE=clutchmaster;1370927]i just spent money and now i cant install.. QUOTE]

Ok so i'm modded, i did it myself, i did the research and i know what i'm talking about. You should have figured out what you were getting before you got. I still dont get why you ask the initial question AFTER you bought everything. If you do this you might not blow your engine but you will tear it up. And as for coming on here a newbie and talking **** to people that know a lot more than you and your buddy is just stupid.

My advice is quit being a dick **** and do the research, save up your money, and buy the **** you need to do it right. You will be a lot happier with the outcome in the long run. I was.
