Reflash time?

I don't know if this has ever been answered but how long does the actual reflash take? After the techline calls the dealership back, is it just hook it up to a computer and a few seconds later its done?

A full VCI flash is typically around 10-15 minutes on the P12..

Yes just call your dealership and tell them you want the stage 2 reflash for your car. 70 bucks is what I was quoted.

Being deployed sucks. I was doing the same thing in Afghanistan. I could only dispose of so many bombs, landmines, etc without getting bored. I bought my SS/SC when I got back!

I know this might be a stupid question but does anyone know if there is a reflash that can be done on the LS or base models? I mean for instance to make my car see boost?

maybe a 2 bar sensor reflash or something?

Sorry if thats a dumb question, I just really have no clue.

Uhh...you can't get the reflash without buying the kit. Gm issues each kit a ONE TIME USE CODE, which you need in order to get the flash done...think about it...

Then why would GM issue Code's with the kits? And why would it say in the install instructions that the PARTEC line or w.e. needs the code before they authorize the vci??? For fun??? Sorry ppl...if your dealer is telling you this...they're dumb and/or doing something illegal

I understand what your saying. Its possible for the dealership to re-use the same VIN number that I had to produce the VCI in order to reflash. Is it illegal? I don't know. Im waiting for a call from my tech to make sure.

Proof:

I understand what you're saying aswell...and believe me, i wish it were possible I'm sure that they'd allow the same VIN to be reflashed (ie. if the ECU didnt respond to the flash) but if a tech was redistributing it...thats called FRAUD. Not only would the tech AND dealership be in serious ****... if he hooked YOU up: you are also in serious ****
