Resonator dilemma

Ok, so here is the situation. I have a header/dp with no cat, and got a custom 2.5" catback with a zzp whisper resonator, and Borla turbo series muffler and tip. I have had this setup for about a month or 2 and have been extreamly satisfied with the sound. Well like 2 weeks ago, i started hearing this rattle that I thought was a heat shield or something, but it turns out to be the resonator. Well, I have been trying to talk to zzp about it all, but im starting to think that I dont want to get another whisper resonator because I dont want to have to replace it again in a few months.

Here is my problem, I dont know what to do about it, cause I love the way my car sounds with it, because I want my exhaust to be quiet, but I almost dont want to get that resonator again because of the problems with it. I am looking for a different one that can keep my exhaust pretty quiet, but dont know what to get. Im looking at a 2.5" Vibrant, but I think its going to be loud. Its ok if its a little louder than now, but I dont want it to be really loud.

Any help guys? Thanks.

No one would buy the catback right now because its so bad, I would have to fix the resonator anyway, and I dont want to spend more money on a new exhaust either.

The ZZP resonator has been known to rattle apart. Search there have been a few threads about it.

I'm thinking of getting another resonator welded in.. my Megan is a bit too loud for me, but I love the tone.
Will another resonator change the tone, or just kill the noise a bit? And by how much?

It will change the tone a bit, but I had the Megan and know what your talking about. I suggest you get the same thing I did, the Magnaflow one for like $60, it will be way better.

The megan is really loud sometimes. Man on long road trips the silencer is amazing. I didn't lose gas mileage either. I wish I could make a silencer that was like a 2.5 inch hole instead of a 1.5 , It would help a lot with power.

Yeah, the Megan is too loud for everyday use... but is OK with the silencer.... but then it seems to affect performance.....maybe gas mileage also??... Ever hear of a silencer that uses springs inside to open up when you get on the throttle??? Now that would be cool with the Megan....so, what size resonator can I add to the Megan cat-back to reduce noise a little, but then run it without the silencer??? Where is there room to add an 18" long resonator?? What magnaflow part number or product??...( 2.5" inlet and outlet, stainless steel)... Can anyone suggest one of the Vibrant resonators??

The car isn't going to pull any harder without a resonator nor with one. The resonator is just there to change the way the exhaust flows to help with the sound. You wont feel anything, and you wont gain or lose anything noticeable nor worth trying to prove.

I got it from Greyhound Performance, but I got it from their eBay store, and it was a buy it now or best offer, I just offered them $60, and it was free shipping.

There is no difference in performance feel from it that I can tell.
