resonators question

I am going to build my own custom exhaust. I am going to get mandrel bent tubing kit, going to get a magnaflow muffler but i cant seem to find a 2.5" resonator. so i got 4 question!

1) what is a good resonator to get and how long/size would be a good fit?
2) has any one tried this set up, if so how do you like it?
3) how do you think will sound?

so i found the mandrel kit from ravenss for like $120 and it comes with clamps/hangers and flanges so i dont have to weld anything. here is the link http://www.mandrelexhaustsystems.com...EXHAUST/Detail

i am getting the magnaflow #12226 (every custom exhaust got the oval offset/center 5x8")

this set up will cost an estimate of 270 depending on the resonator (piping 120+25 shipping, muffler 75, resonator=x)

have you seen this exhaust

http://www.zzperformance.com/cobalt_...=804&catid=155

it seems to be what you might want. Do you have a 2.5" downpipe, this system can come with a flange to hook right up to a 2.5" or stock downpipe.

otherwise, resonators have been easy for me to find when I wasnt looking. check ZZP, cobalt addiction, and maybe turbo tech racing

i seen that on some searches, but i went on there site and they didn't have it. i just did another search and some member ask them when they are getting in, they said like 2 weeks, i guess i'll just keep checkin back. seem like the only 2.5" resonator for cobalts out there.

resonators play a big role in sound. usually the longer the res the deeper less raspy the sound. pipping also plays a role as well as bends and of course muffler.

I hope that the reson doesnt take away the shooting of flames... lmao but seriously

Part number : 10436 for resonator, 14250 for muffler. This is for 2.5" In and Out. Magnaflow.

Keep all your stock tubing for the catback except for the part that goes over the wheel well, measure, this is 2.25". The stock system is 2.5" up until that point and aft.

Make me a 2.5" piece to replace the part where it's 2.25" and we'll be best o buds

I was thinking about getting a magnaflow catback but my local exhaust shop does really good work. Then I found out the stock system is all 2.5 except for that one section. I'm gonna have him put the resonator on and if he can't find a high flow muffler that's similar but even quieter from magnaflow. I hate drone so I may ask if he has a quieter resonator too. Then have him replace the 2.25 section. See if it won't save me 200 bucks.

i think going to do the mandrel pipe kit $120, magna flow muffler 12226 $70, and i vibrant resonator $45.

probably $260 with every and shipping. the pipe kit comes with clamps and flanges so no need to weld. then im going to get the zzp dp/heade combo.
