Smile Rev-it up stage one 102.56mph 1/4mi

Well I just got back from the track and was quite dissappointed in my clutch, well the old stocker has about had it. Can't wait for the stage 2+. Due to my clutch failure I was unable to post any 13sec runs. I did however increase my MPH to 102.56

r/t : .799...60ft: 2.437...1/4: 14.536...MPH 102.56

That mph should put me into the 13's if I can get a good launch with my new clutch which is possible. My 60ft sucked and my reaction time sucked it would help a lot if the clutch worked instantly. I started launching the car at 2500rpms but I was not coming out the hole quick enough. The next launch I choose 3500rpms which was the 102.56 run. THe next run I launched at 4000rpms and fried the clutch more. The clutch slippage probally cost me .3-.4sec per run.

Boost is at 10psi @ 3000rpms and goes to 15psi at around 5k with the 2.9"pully. Won't be able to do anymore testing till the new clutch arrives, but as soon as it does back to the track to post some 13's. With a 2.00 60ft a 13.7 is feasible.

Oh yea its 75 degrees and humity is very high 90%. Superchargers don't like warm humid air.

DR's set to 25psi.

Sucks about the clutch, maybe this is why gm is holding off on the stage kits, they are waiting until they build enough replacement clutches for all the ones that we are going to burn up . Did you spin your wheels at all while launching since you launched at such a hig rpm?

well considering they will not replace the clutch because of wear or ignorance I doubt that is why the release is up until early summer.

After my wonderful burnout the nice and wide nitto 555r drag radials stick to the ground. These things don't spin on the track I actually bogged the engine on one run...oops!

My clutch is fine, do you slip the clutch when you launch ?

If you slip the clutch at all you are asking for it to fail.

Hmmm,

I can't think of any OEM clutches that wouldn't fry when being slipped at 3,500rpms better yet 4,000rpms with DR's.

wait so which pulley did you use. You stated 2.9 in the post but your profile says 2.7. I'm confused but awesome trap speed man.

I was going to say, with a better launch that speed should be good for high 13's. Since I ran a 14.52 at 99.96

I think he can go deeper than high 13s. I ran a 14.40 @ 96.6 adding 7mph is a pretty big accomplishment.

You are making some good power with a 102mph trap.
Figure a curb weight of roughly 3160lbs with you in it would equal about 265whp at say 16% drivetrain loss that is 306 crank HP.

These cars have bad traction issues. I mean some people trap as high as 98-99 stock (from what i've read about on these forums) and they are aonly getting like 14.6-14.8's with 2.4-2.5 60' times. If you were to put drag radials on a stock cobalt ss/sc, I really belive that the car could do 14.0 flat.

Gotta change my sig I had the billet flow 2.7" on but it was running lean so I put on the billetflow 2.9" and the revitup 2.85" is just sitting in the box.

Gonna try and get my time slip scanned today.

Thats pretty similar to my run with the old psi fi kit. Looks like with the new tune that Rev it Up did they are still making about the same power.

Nice MPH! At that speed with a good 60' you should hit a 13.6-13.7

Not sure why you didn't run the 2.8 though

Tried to tell everyone the stock clutch will NEVER hold once you get traction!

Sweet boom. I may have some track times this weekend my self. Etown opens this weekend. I'll be on stock tires don't want to blow my clutch. I want stage 2 from rev it up first than I change my clutch.

Hey ray how come my boost gauge doesn't read more than 12 lbs of boost. I do have the bypass mod. Thanks
Joe
