Jn2 Nov 22, 2009 04:41 PM

yes u r going to need a 2.2/2.4 alternator and idler pulley...ur alternator cant spin clockwise, its not reversable like ours is :p and ur idler pulley needs to be smooth not ribed, since u wont be running a belt with ribs on both sides any more

rico Nov 22, 2009 04:42 PM

ill be getting a 2.2/2.4 tensioner with the kit:)and belt i guess all i need is the alt:) good stuff ill just sell mines and get a 2.2 one:) thx for the heads up

dman090 Nov 22, 2009 05:03 PM

looks fun, good luck on your build buddy

rico Nov 22, 2009 05:09 PM

thx man

hungryhip-ccp Nov 22, 2009 05:49 PM

not now, but when your all done you gotta have that air dam in place for proper rad cooling. ;) (i never took mine off just slipped the h/e out)

its gonna be a whole new beast when your done lol trust me you will love it!

rico Nov 22, 2009 05:50 PM

huh u lost me ahah. are you talking about the intercooler ? lol and yess I cant wait lol should be very fun

hungryhip-ccp Nov 22, 2009 05:53 PM

the black thing around the h/e with the flap on the bottom, you actually have to have that or the car will work much harder to keep cool

you didnt have to take it off just lift up on the h/e so the plastic nubs pop out the groove and the slide it out much much easier, lol

yeah my bad h/e= heat exchanger= intercooler

rico Nov 22, 2009 05:54 PM

oh wow I didnt know that. thx for saying something before the guy comes and pics up the sc kit. saved me one there bro.

eh wont be all that hard to put it back on just bolt it on and done lol its all good

hungryhip-ccp Nov 22, 2009 05:57 PM

ya, i didnt know if you removed it to modify it or something (cause i had to trim mine for piping)

so i figured id mention something cause i know a guy who had cut his off cause it was scraping all the time and his car would have the fans on high like all the time after that

it never actually over heated but it would be 220 with fans on high sometimes, my fan never kicks on car stays at 180-190

rico Nov 22, 2009 06:00 PM

oh okay lol thx. yeah my car never goes over 190 lol hopefully it stays like that... but eh maybe since i took it off there is trimming needed or something lol then i have a reason to have taken it off lol

TurboTechRacing Nov 22, 2009 06:07 PM

Lotta work done so far, looks good!

rico Nov 22, 2009 06:10 PM

thx. yeah was pretty easy for doing it all solo was pretty interesting. gonna get the kit and car going then get a new clutch, wideband, 78lb springs, mounts etc. later on port the head and more goodies

whyyoumadson? Nov 23, 2009 12:58 AM
