rods question
rods question
Does anyone know if our "forged" rods are true forged steel fracture split or forged powdered metal fracture split rods? I know the Saab version of the 2.0l ecotec has true forged steel rods, but from what I read the SS has Mahle manufactured rods, which I read OEM designes are typcially forged powdered metal. I haven't read the LSJ build-up to see if it says so or not.
its the same motor, to my knowledge nothing was changed internally when they brought it over...just changed to a supercharger...now this is just in talking with different people, so i cant provide written evidence
i just tried looking looking in the build book and couldnt find exactly what type of forged pistons...but im lookin in the book for just the LSJ and not the performace build book for the ecotec series...

The Mazda block is only good for about 260HP before it goes boom on stock internals..
