Rotor Question...

Do I need new rotors if my steering wheel is shaking when I brake? If I brake hard it doesn't shake but if I apply some moderate pressure it does...

If yes, what are the best rotors?

Sounds like a question from a test in school

Thanks!

It does sound like its your rotors that are warped..Id say stock would be best and cheapest..and dont brake so hard all the time..let them cool down between braking if you can.

^Agreed. And hammering them on and coming to a complete stop and holding the pedal down won't help either. I'd personally suggest R1 Concept brakes, slotted only, not drilled.

Also make sure you torque your lug nuts and don't put them on as tight as you can. A lot of people use impact guns on them and that can cause the rotors to warp faster.

I will tell you this. The MAIN reason why brake warp most of the time is Control Arm Bushings. It did to my car shaking really bad then I decided to go OTTP and they have Spherical Control Arm Bushings. They runs about $200 dollars and they will STOP the shaking/warp brake. Trust me, it's worth it. GM put in CHEAP Control Arm Bushings cause they want YOU to slow down or making you keep coming back to them and they are robbing your money BIG time. I decided and said to myself SCREW this and get Spherical Control Arm Bushings from OTTP and noticed it's WAY better. It stop shaking brakes, make less wheel hops, NO shaking at high speed. It's dangerous if you get unexpected somebody is in your way and you have to stop really fast. You'll be out of control, that's for sure.

Sounds like you have run out, or street terms, warped. EBC is a popular choice and are in stock.
