RPM recorder?
I was wondering if anyone happens to know if we have a RPM recorder? i.e. a box that tracks how many times your car has reached redline. The reason i ask is i was thinking of running my car in a couple of weeks at the track. Basically im just curious because i've been told thats how dealerships cover their ass if they cant prove you've been racing your car. Would just like some info on this if anyone has some for my own piece of mind IF anything happens to my car while running at the track. Thanks for any help.
Car info:
07 SS/SC completely stock 10K miles

the ecm records X amount of time. not sure how much. but there is also a "black box" type setup as well. a tattle tale deal.
it starts recording when it reaches a certain g force load, left right, accel decel i believe. not 100% sure. but i know im close.

There is a "black box" that activates in a crash... but a dealership isn't gonna pull that stuff to see if your car was at the strip.
Now if you miss a shift and blow out the tranny... they can pull data to tell what speed and RPM you were at when you tried to shift.
My advice... take off your tag when running the track... there are guys that some dealerships send to the tracks to record tag numbers of cars that are there.
