rpms dropping problem??

Recently ive noticed that if i rev it up to about 3k rpms or so, when the needle drops back down itll go alittle under 1k rpms then jump up a little above 1k rpms, then drop down to like 500 and like sounds like its about to stall for a second, then itll go to idle and idle fine after that...figured this wasnt normal and was wondering if anyone has an idea wat could be wrong?? thanks

I had issues like that when the alternator was starting to die on a couple of my previous cars. Nothing like that with by Cobalt yet though.

I took my car in for the exact problem was told it was normal due to my cai and they would not do a reflash because the tech was very persistant it was normal. walked out a 100$ richer though

Lights dim because they are used to running at 14.4volts (your alternator) when the motor slows down the alternator doesnt put out as much current and therefore the lights drop lower towards 12volts (your battery)

Also, mine has done this since I bought it 3 years and 80k miles ago....its normal
