Running a 2.5" Pulley

There are many ppl who believe that it should not be done and many others who believe it can be done as long as you take the right steps and are careful. Lets clear up this debate once and for all!! LSJWannabe, 607 motorsports i know you both have ran the 2.5 with no problems. explain to us how exactly u did that. any nay sayers(silent'd;)) give us ur reasoning why we shouldnt and we'll settle this once and for all

lsjwannabe 07-03-2008 01:30 PM

Good tune, right supporting mods, and a smart driver that doesn't beat his car like it owes him child support.

If you want the power so bad, just save up and get the harrop.:)

silentd 07-03-2008 01:35 PM

turbo > 2.5 all day any day

607Motorsports 07-03-2008 01:35 PM

Agreed, it's all about the tuning and how you drive the car, also you gotta have all the cooling mods and meth definately helps :) By no means do I take it easy on the car but I also don't beat it daily. I've put over 20k miles on the car with a 2.5" pulley and drive it about 200-250 miles a week.

Haha Why do you think I am getting the software. There isn't anyone around me that can tune me so the Harrop wouldn't do me any good right now but when I learn how to tune at least half ass I think I am gonna give it a try. Can't beat a at least 50whp bolt on.:D

I was getting ready to order the software but I decided I better save a little more and go ahead and get the wide band also.

I ran a 2.5 for a while...and ran it hard....

worked like a charm with loads of tuning...plenty quick for 90% of people.

i'm part of that 10% though and a 2.5 will feel good for about 2 weeks then i will get use to it and want more

06black 07-03-2008 01:48 PM

you'll need a clutch before you'll run out of power.

Area47 07-03-2008 01:52 PM

people have blown cars bone stock.

06blackg85ss 07-03-2008 01:54 PM

it's all in the tune and cooling mods. I beat the ever living shit out of my car with the 2.55 on it all day every day. fuckers still running strong now with the turbo.

true.

i think i may have to take a little road trip to michigan to get tuned this time if u know what i mean

coopn8r 07-03-2008 02:00 PM

I have been running my 2.6 for a while know.. No problem.. I was debating on going with a 2.5 :P We will see what happens with this thread.. It may change my mind.. It may not :P

silentd 07-03-2008 02:00 PM

i agree its all in the tuning..

the problem is 2 things

1) theres no tuners close to chris or me

2) he does not know how to tune

i personally think he will be safer with a turbo or 2.8. IMO

Super_SS 07-03-2008 02:02 PM

fuck it, get a 2.0 pulley.
