Running open header?

I was woundering if any one is running open header. I know that normally running open header you gain alot more hp. over an exhaust.

Not going to work well. You will loose all backpressure and we definitely need some.

open headers yields better top end at the price of lower end torque...plus it'll sound really ugly to make what, 10 more hp at the wheels if that? don't be that guy, ya know the one with one hell of a bark but can't bite worth a dime

I thought that especialy with a f/i car you want free flow with now back pressure. Don't you want all that hot air out as fast as possible.

well without going into pressure waives and header primary lenght and diameter etc etc the idea is that you want a scavanging effect, which is tuned for a given rpm etc etc... efi or not has nothing to do with it...I'll correct my statment of lossing low end torque by saying you aren't really "loosing" torque (it isn't disapearing) rather, it switches over to a higher rpm, so let say you loose 10ft at 2500 you may gain it back at 5000 (for example).

To me the only cars that sound good with open headers are V8s.

Open headers are only for drag cars that will never see the street.

Wouldn't that burn up your head? Or at least cause great damage to it?
