Saab??

So I had my SS/SC up on a lift the other day and looking up on the exhaust side there is an aluminum tube that runs along the block that says SAAB. Is there some connection to the LSJ and saabs?

Thanks!

saab engineered the LSJ

you'll notice saab all over that engine

zackss 12-25-2008 11:38 PM

same motor as the 9-3 son

Spike 15 12-25-2008 11:39 PM

if you also look under the spark plug cover on the LSJ, it says saab also.

That's a coolant tube btw

iowass/sc 12-25-2008 11:59 PM

thanks! i figured that was the connection

Really, we're everywhere.

;)

saab engineered the ecotec..each ecotec has saab stamped on it

just think our engines are born from jets

Sharkey 12-26-2008 02:36 AM

the lsj is the exact same motor as the turbo 2.0l (lk9) thats in the saab 9-3. the internals are all the same, its the same head, only real difference is that the lk9 has a turbo hanging off it.

I was going to add something useful but you already have the best answer

and then i was going to add something sarcastic and stupid, but i just dont feel like it.....your welcome

williamhvx1 12-26-2008 10:01 AM

so our engine is a sweeten ENGINE?

suburbanrobot 12-26-2008 10:08 AM

wow, I did not realize the motor was SAAB engineered....
I thought the big connection was the transmission

I always wanted a SAAB, then I test drive one.... look at the price and say ..... "no thanks"

williamhvx1 12-26-2008 10:24 AM

newer saab are sexy...

Omnigear 12-26-2008 11:27 AM

so put the saab lower intake = profit
=p

Actually the Ecotec was engineered by GM Opel. Since the current Ecotec motor was used in the SAAB before being used in the Chevy cars, it is easier to keep manufacturing the cars with the SAAB etchings then to have two seperate etchings which would cost more money.
