Saab??

So I had my SS/SC up on a lift the other day and looking up on the exhaust side there is an aluminum tube that runs along the block that says SAAB. Is there some connection to the LSJ and saabs?

Thanks!

the lsj is the exact same motor as the turbo 2.0l (lk9) thats in the saab 9-3. the internals are all the same, its the same head, only real difference is that the lk9 has a turbo hanging off it.

wow, I did not realize the motor was SAAB engineered....
I thought the big connection was the transmission

I always wanted a SAAB, then I test drive one.... look at the price and say ..... "no thanks"

Actually the Ecotec was engineered by GM Opel. Since the current Ecotec motor was used in the SAAB before being used in the Chevy cars, it is easier to keep manufacturing the cars with the SAAB etchings then to have two seperate etchings which would cost more money.
