is this safe

I just bought a 2.6 pulley, belt, and cobra heat exchanger. I will also be buying 60 pounders with harness and meth kit. Along with that I will be having tune time performance install and tune me. I was just wondering if this is safe and if I need anything else. My other performance mods include injen cai, and vibrant header/dp combo, vibrant 3 inch catback. I do realize I will need engine and tranny mounts to keep traction. Is there anything else I need to be safe?? Or is what I a buying good?

two step colder spark plugs, and the engine and tranny mounts dont give you traction.. there is no such thing a traction on FWD lolol they eliminate wheel hope

i have a full set of solid motor mounts and traction bars ill let go for $330 shipped to your door.. there from bwoody and the traction bar are the full race version.. there also powdercoated anodized candy red!!

2.6 is pushing it. for a DD i'd go with 2.7 or 2.8 to be extra careful.

Well since I bought the 2.6 its what ill be using.. What I'm asking is for anyway to make the 2.6 pulley just as safe as a 2.7. I'm going with all the cooling mods I can think of. I will be adding the dual pass onto my list. Should I get any new internals?? Like new pistons for when my number 4 goes haha. Its going to be a couple months. I'm saving all the money I can but its only like 300 to 400 a month.. So that's why I have to wait.

I mean how close of a risk is the 2.6. Is it like if I do the right things ill be good.. Or like the first time I get on it ill be picking up pieces of my motor. All these guys with 2.6 pulleys are your cars daily driven??

i personally don't think getting a 2.6 is worth it why not get A 2.8 and have only a little less power with alot less risk. If your going 2.6, then the safest route, is all new internals, max cooling, etc.

you dont need all new internals to run a 2.6 inch pulley... you dont really have to get new pistons either.. if you have the dual pass, cora h/e (or the like), ported blower, and have meth injection you'll be fine.. the meth and water actually cool the top of the piston heads to prevent detonation, also bwoody has an ice box idk if they fit on the cobalt but the redline there is an ice box where the coolnat runs through as wellbut the h/e dual pass and water/meth will be fine.. through in the ported blower youll be perfect

i was going to go with a 2.6 but i ended up selling the hib and bught a 2.7.. just because i didnt want the blower over spinning that much, if i was you i would consider that, but hey people have 2.5 inch pulley i even seen a few with 2.3 inch pulleys and there fine wit hthe right tune and right cooling mods

so theres a bunch more stuff to buy then i realized haha.. I've already purchased and recieved the 2.6 pulley, H/E, and 60's, i'm buying an AEM uego and tensioner pulley from a member.. I still need to buy meth kit, and Mkulreys dual pod. The pod will be purchased in about a week. Meth kit will have to wait until next month. Then i guess i'll buy dual pass.. then i'm all set for install and tune.. I'm getting anxious.

Wideband, EGT, Interceptor and boost is not a necessity the answer to make power!

Matt at tunetime will tell you dual pass is a waste you will see no gains . and as far as safe that is the same set up that another guy on here just blew #4 with .Matt can make as much power with a 2.8 as a 2.6 (I have seen him do it)and its easier on your supercharger.

lol thanks man

if you want an extra cooling mod that helps get a higher flow H/E pump 5 gpm is not bad but 20 gpm is much better. cheaper then a dual pass and really does something. like this one http://www.steeda.com/products/mezie...oler_pumps.php
just so you a
know it does not state for our car but if it fits the lightning it fits ours ,I know for sure because its on mine.

you've all convinced me.. i guess i have a 2.6 for sale.. now for the 2.8 i've heard mixed reviews.. lets settle on one.. do i need to machine my snout. and do i need a hub.. how does that work. the one i bought didn't come with screws.. with the factory ones work.
