Selectable tunes...

Is there anything like this available for the LSJ? I have many friends who have this option for their cars (G35, A4, etc).

They all use a button on the steering wheel to select between tunes...NOS, Race Fuel, Valet, etc.

GM3 has selectable HOM mode thats activated by cruise control on the steering wheel. Other than that i have never heard of anything available for the LSJ thats a selectable tune by hitting a button.

I feel like having a selectable tune would only work so well on a supercharged car because of the pulley

Actually it would be perfect for a E85 setup and a standard fuel setup. It would be like having a flex fuel setup.

but technically, the idea of having selectable tunes is to make one conservative for everyday driving, correct? Say your running 60's and a 2.8, the tune could only be as conservative as 60's could go, which is kinda useless. I may be wrong, but it just seems like there wouldnt be much functionality because the pulley would limit how far you could go with the tune, in either direction. Whether it was more conservative or aggressive.

Think bigger than that. Think nitrous tune, valet tune (make sure they arent romping on the car by limiting it to a certain MPH, i hate people driving my car), race fuel tune (great for the track), thats the kind of stuff im talking about.

And by GM3, im assuming thats the GM Stage 3 setup?

Like I said. It would be perfect for a E85 setup. You could by switching tunes see HUGE hp increases.

Only problem is e85 changes blends so frequently that you really always need to be dialing in the maf, especially if you are ocd like I am lol. There can be uses for a dual tune on the lsj though. For example a 91 tune vs 93 tune. Believe it or not the difference can be quiet remarkable, especially on a TVS lol. I am sure someone will do a dual tune with e85 and 91/93 soon enough though. Vince is on the right track with the gms3 setup and using the cruise control setup.

This would be really great for an E85 car if for no other reason than it would be very nice to have the ability to quick switch to a 91 tune for a roadtrip so you don't need to worry about trying to find an e85 station.

Just purchase hptuners and then make your "quick switch" for the road trip.

It's also a pain to drain the gas and or run it all the way dry when switching between the two. Coming from someone who has run both, it can be a pain switching between the two.

I agree, but there are definitely situations when it would be worth the effort. Even living in Iowa, E85 is hard to come by sometimes.
