seriously considering a turbo swap
ok so being around a bunch of my friends and there turbod cars like there wrx's evo and eclipse's iv really been continplating on doing a turbo swap i feel like ill never have the power to keep up with my firends with just the supercharger upgrades. i was looking for advice on waht to buy if im doing a turbo swap from people out there. if i get a kit is that everything ineed? or am i going to need more parts. how much do you think installation would cost me if i get it professionally done and about how long it would take them to do it. please advice needed and input from anyone who has done this before.

Hahn Racecraft is coming out with their all turbo kit very soon here. With the Hahn kit you can get their streetrace intake manifold and get rid of the stock crap one! Do some research on here and you can figure out your best route!
Rebelautowerx is also working with a guy on here with a twinscrew. Stock set up puts down 281 whp but after tuning they say it has the possibilities of reaching somewhere near 350 I believe. They are doing a lot of work to make sure the car can hold up and that it is a good product before they give production of those a go. So if you are looking for a major change in your car, give that a look. Somewhere around 4 grand for everything you need to install it. Best part is it is a direct bolt on s/c. No drilling or anything. There's a post somewhere on here about it. "I'm soon 2 be screwed" I believe is the thread name.
professional installation on a turbo is gonna be around 1,000 if you can find a shop that can do it for you , you might as well have them try and find all the parts for you maybe get a good deal , 4500 k intstalled and tuned
We Are offering up the Most Complete Turbo Kit out there.

Not all that expenisve for the turbo swap. Most people who have modded out there cars and are making some decent power already have clutch upgrades, becuase beleive me its definatley needed. The turbo kits is a good prive for what you are getting and then the injectors and harness is not all that expensive.
A couple things
If you have a goal in mind, cost & quality shouldn't be of concern cause you should do whatever it takes to reach that goal and you should always have good quality parts. These are givens. If you do a budget and it's just too much for you to do it right in the beginning, change plans and don't do it.
As far as keeping up with your friends, not trying to preach but you should be doing this for yourself, not for them. It's all about personal satisfaction because at the end of the day, it's your car, your car note, your car insurance and your money you're spending. I don't understand the point of spending thousands of dollars to impress someone else.
If you want to know what parts you would need:

I highly suggest reading this FAQ as well:

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If you want, I can list a book that is good for reading for a beginner like yourself.
Good luck.

I had 4k in the bank, I could either trade in and get an Ugly ass neon and have the same power I will have with my turbo kit or keep My beautiful Balt and make some power (just over 350whp to be exact) The stg 3 for the srt4 costs around the same, and its still Ugly as ****..... , STILL have the Bling factors the Ladies love, 2 doors, and deff better to take out the ladies while still going fast.
Thats why I just ordered Rebels Stage 1 kit!
R u gonna gonna tell me your neon looks better than this!

And I still dont have to pull up in a neon. WHAAAAA

i would defintily go wiht the rebel autoworxks stage 2 turbo kit becuase it comes wiht the front mount intercooler, am i going to need to do internals? thats waht all my freinds are telling me even if i do a stage 1 kit
I was going to say go turbo and I feel that going to a front mount air to air cooler would be a better way to go.
I have heard and know of someone that lives in my area that is doing a turbo and retaining the stock intercooler setup. should be good. but once you want to go above 20 PSI it will be hard as the intake is restrictive for that kind of flow. either the intake has to be re-engineered internaly to allow flow and still cooling or go Air to Air instead.
Only time will tell. Unfortunately SC swaps have failed due to the intake. Just sucks.

First of all, PSI is a measurement of pressure that is caused by restriction.
20 PSI alone means nothing when you're not mentioning the size of the compressor. He could get a GT30 Turbocharger and run 10 PSI and never need to go any higher because of the comparison of CFM per PSI is much different than (for example) the M62.
I don't know where you're hearing this stuff about the intake manifold. There are a couple different approaches in doing a turbo setup:
1. Gut the charger and use the charger as a intake manifold
2. Replace the supercharger and use any intake manifold that works on a 2.2 or 2.4L engine (L61 or LE5)
So that's why I'm confussed by your statement.
Where did you hear that from?

Yeah you are confused cause it is all hear say and I am not that stating that it is true. I have heard on more than one occassion that the lamina is restrictive on this forum including REBEL WORXs. the measurement of PSI needs to be measured before and after the Lamina fins or Cooling cores (w/e U want to call them) IE when you get 18PSI boost it could be 20 or higher before the lamina fins DUE TO RESTRICTION. there can be more than one restriction and the intake definately will have one. as boost increases the restriction will become more apparent. Some believe that is why the SC is not as effective as it could be. But W/E dont get bent out of shape about (not saying you are....OK.... I am cool with your questions)
Like I said, I was confussed by your statement, wasn't getting bent out of shape...I rarely do on this forum.
