Serpentine Belt Help asap please!

I have a belt tensioner from hell! and now my belt has more slack then before, meaning its not lined up right, i dont have my manual and need some quick help. Anyone have the diagram for the serpentine belt? and is there a trick to the tensioner that i dont know about? is there a hex bolt that i can loosten?

the tensioner actually is automatic. There is a like a shock/spring that puts tension on the belt. So that only means that your tensioner is shot.

I wasnt really clear, the belt tensioner wont compress at all! and now the belt itself is missing a pully somewhere and i need the diagram to route it right

Nope the tensioner didnt move at all, i took the supercharger off to get the slack in the pully, the freaking tensioner wouldent even depress when i first tried, people using this 15mm wrench thing, no clue how that worked i could stand on this and it wouldnt move.

anyone know how much it would cost to replace?

There is a sticker under the hood with the belt routing on it somewhere...either the front, or one of the strut towers, I think.

Also, sometimes just a wrench isn't enough. I used a 15mm to get a hold of the bolt, but I had to slide a large screwdriver through the other end of the wrench and use it as leverage to actually push the tensioner down.

What exactly is this bolt? because if your talking about the black piece right behind the smaller pulley on the top like in all the pictures i see, i dont have a notch for a 15mm wrench, theres not even a trace of one that may have been warn down either, i have a 2005 and its completely oval.

It sounds like your just not doing it right....

Ok, take a 9/16 wrench and a mallet. Put the open end of the wrench on the part circled in red. Then hammer it on. It might take a few tries, but it'll get stuck on. Then just push forward and down at the same time.

and heres the routing...

yes you do.

Look to the imediate right of that pulley and you'll see where to put it. If your car is supercharged it's gonna be there.

My car on the otherhand..... Well, I've removed that section and a couple other pulleys as well, but thats only cause I like a lot of power....

Yes... i removed that whole thingamagiger tonight so assuming i can get everythign up and running i would be able to sell it.

I also agree with timmy... The part he circled in red is just a lil bump piece that is part of the pulley mechanism. Unless someone ground it off it will be there

also thanks galexy for the pic. It should help my new belt shanagins tomorrow

well i d say take it to the dealer cause you don't even have the right peice to do the job...i wouldn't pay for it either...it should be there..otherwise its gonna suck getting that off

where you have wrench marks there...thats where a little metal *** is suppose to be sticking up to oput a wrench on and you don't have one

u have the zzp adjustable tensinor...

http://www.zzperformance.com/cobalt_...=447&catid=142

to take slack off the smaller pulley,ur gonna have to take the tensinor off and adjust the holes to a smaller hole(3 holes at the bottom)

the screw thats on the top is a reverse screw...so instead of counter-clock wise to take it off,ull have to clock wise it unscrew it

Well hopefully there will be enough slack if i change the holes, however the tensioner still wont depress, so not sure if it will even make a difference.
