I've used both, and installed both shifters.

I love the feeling of the B&M. The bushing help out a lot.

The Hurst feels like it's a little bit shorter of a through, not sure though.

Either way I feel like I got the best of both worlds. I have the B&M Bushings with the Hurst Shifter

My shifter pattern knob broke off the first day. Maybe a vendor or someone can chime in and maybe consider making the bushings.

I liked the stock shifter too... if the damn thing wasn't made out of fecking plastic. I looked at Red's when we took it out... wow... what crap.

Oh... by the way... I typed in "Cobalt Hurst Shifter" on Amazon.com and got a whole list of Hurst made shift knobs that say they will fit the Cobalt. There's a nice T-handle on there too for like $30. Once I get the shifter in and installed I'll have to order one and see if it works.

when you removed the shifter, if you do it the way B&M have you do it, you'll remove the black piece that everything bolts up to. When you do that, you'll see that the 4 bolts holding that down go through the bushings. You remove those and replace them with the solid one's. It makes a pretty good difference

Oh... so they're the things that attach the "cradle" that holds the shifter assembly. I guess it helps firm it up some more... interesting.

why switch to the PClear? I've seen it in person... I'm just not that impressed with it.
