Should my car be doing this?

I have now beat a Chipped, Intake, Exhaust VW Jetta GLI. Also kept doors on my buddies Chipped, tuned, intake, exhaust K03 GTI. I drive a bone stock 06 ss/sc. It just seems wierd that these cars are suppose to be making upwards of what like 250-260fwhp or something like that, and I am hanging with them. Factory freak maybe?

Sounds like the force is strong with this ss as is mine. I only lose by a car length to my friends modded srt4 and I'm stock, so anything is possible. Vdubs are also heavier than balts..so they'll need that little extra power to make up for its porkiness. But sounds about right. If you can manage low 14's in the quarter, those vw's with those mods run similar times.

Ya, I have an 07 SS/SC and before I even put the intake on it was pretty quick, I stayed up with a V6 charger and a V6 camaro and I whooped a modded scirroco hahaha. That scirrocco was a hilarious "race" if you will, I would let him start climbing on me on the highway and then drop it to fourth and get an instant car length haha

3800/3400 Camaro's are slow. They're too heavy for both of those engines.

yeah give them 5 mins to get up to there 94 mph top speed and you might not be able to run them down within a mile from a dead stop.

94 mph = 137.8 feet per second.
The prius will take 38.3 seconds to travel one mile.
The average trap for an SS in the 1/4 is about 100 mph which takes roughly 14 seconds. Now the Cobalt has only traveled 1320 feet to reach 100 mph. In 14 seconds the Prius will only have gone 1929 feet.
I have been up to 125 from a dead stop in about 19 seconds. Which is 183 fps. And the SS would still have another 19 seconds to accerate before the Prius reached the 1 mile mark. I'm pretty sure the Prius would get smoked =) That is if 94 is the Prius top speed. I dont know.

i wouldnt say we are ragging on you, its just you like almost everyone besides people that own or know ppl that own cobalts think they are garbage, which i cant totally disagree with but they are surprisingly fast when you think they are trash

There's an extra digit in there.

With those numbers, a Prius just ran a 10 second pass ersumshit.

1mph = 1.4667 fps

94 mph x 1.4667 fps = 137.8 feet per second

137.8 fps x 14 seconds = 1930 feet

The speed of the prius is a constant 94 mph. The SS was accelerating from a dead stop and reached 100 mph in 14 seconds.

Dammit I hate math sometimes.

I thought the Prius passed the Cobalt going 94 mph and the Cobalt was at a dead stop. And we were trying to figure out if the Cobalt could pass the Prius before the 1 mile mark?
