SLP loudmouthII

Im looking to buy the slp loudmouthII catback exhaust but before i do there are some questions that i need answered. 31790 is the part number.

Wil this Exhaust fit to stock header/dp combo or will i be needing a new DP/header.

The approx. HP gain after installing, if hepls i only have CAI atm.

How hard is the installation and or should i just bring it to a shop. (only installed my CAI before)

Should i also get the louder resonator for the exhaust over the stock one in the Cat-back.

sorry for all these questions im still a noobie when it comes to these things for now.

Why are you getting a loudmouth? Have you hear it before?

Search for short stack Exhaust FAQ.

Have a shop weld the exhaust on, unless you can weld have them do it.

Resonators reduce sound, not increase.

actually my friend has a loudmouth exhaust and i really like the sound of it. There is a resonator that you can buy for it that makes it louder and have a deeper tone.

That resonator must be shorter and wider then what it is on the system to change the sound like that..

maybe im not clear enough lmao. instead of keeping the resonator in the slp, i can get an upgraded one instead of the one in the SLP exhaust.

also im still confused if the slp exhaust will fit into my stock header/dp combo.

I think hes talking about the loudmouth 1 resonator that makes it louder. i also have a camaro and it has the same type of system i have a loudmouth 2 on their and its quieter then the loudmouth 1 resonator... but they can be switched out in a few minutes due to the band clamps the system comes with. To the op i installed my slp system myself on a freinds lift, and ive also done a few on my back in my driveway it isnt that hard to put a catback system on the car just give yourself enough time and the right tools. good luck

And to answer the other questions
1. how much hp will you gain maybe 5
2. the slp system should bolt right up to the stock dp header combo

The SLP cat-back will bolt up to the stock header/dp and vice-versa. I have the standard SLP resonator that comes with the kit and it is pretty obnoxious, but I do have the whole header back.

'05 Cobalt SS/SC-- SLP Header, SLP Loudmouth Single Exit Exhaust, K&N Typhoon Intake, OTTP Stage 2.
