Looking for the best bang for the buck. Header/dp looks like its gonna cost about the same as stage 2. I was also contemplating Rebel canned tune type kit and installing it myself, but I'd hate to void my warranty. Opinions? This is on an 07 balt with an injen cold air intake so far and everytyhing else is stock.

I'm seriously thinking about the Rebel Stage 1 kit, but I hear its not shipping yet, and it would probably void my warranty.......

If I went header/DP, I'd probably be going with the ZZP combo setup with a 3inch catted downpipe with a 2.5 bolt in, and then a randon tech 2.75inch exhaust if money allows.

I'd really like to keep the car legal and warranty friendly as this is my daily driver and I don't really want to blow it up.

hrmm...I might be changing my mind. Just read sickcobalts horror story about failing emissions here in saint louis cuz he has a zzp header/dp with high flow cat. I really don't need that headache on my daily driver.

I don't even see where there's a choice. Stage2 all the way!

(just make sure to have your Stage2 installed by a dealer)

Stage2 + Warranty Intact = Best Deal Going Since Sliced Bread

I live in saint louis city, off the 44. I know that for the emissions test all they do is plug in the tester thingy and see if it pulls a code. Why did your cat go bad? How long did you have it for?? It just seems shitty that if you only had that header/dp/cat for a year or even a couple years and the cat is already bad.....I'd hate to be replacing cats every few years. I know the stock cat is good for a LONG time.

It really depends on your goals with the car. If you want to maybe sometime go to 60#'s then your stage 2 is pretty much a waste. If you upgrade your exhaust you will be able to maybe upgrade you SC more in the future.

It's just stuff to think about.

I bought my car and kept it stock for less then a month. All in the same week i bought a custom 3 inch exhaust, no headers or downpipe yet, and a stage 2 kit. I say go for the stage 2 and then exhaust, and then wheel hop elimination and then cooling mods =P. However if you have a heavy foot and your always in it, get some cooling mods.

The stage 2 kit does Not have to be installed by the dealer. the kit can be installed at any place and will not void your warranty. as long as the pcm has been flashed with the required stage 2 upgrade.

but of course if the parts fail due to careless install.....then yes, you are busted
