so i'm bored...

so like the title says i'm bored, and i'm thinking about pulling off the throttle body or the supercharger to see if i have any nasty oil build up like some people are having... if i do pull off the supercharger, i'm worried that i may need a new gasket. I'm one of those that thinks if you pull somehting off you might as well buy a new gasket. so to avoid that i'm thinking about just pulling off the the throttle body... any sugestions? has anyone else notice a nasty build up?

BTW i just installed a catch can.

As far as Ive heard you dont need to replace the supercharger gasket, better because Im getting ready to pull mine off tonight also and dont have one. I couldnt tell you about the throttle body gasket. good luck

The SC/mani gasket is metal with an embedded o-ring, perfectly fine to clean and re-use many times. They are also about $30 new, so don't damage it. The TB/SC seal is with a large orange O-ring, so its also re-usable. Again, clean and re-install carefully. Have fun.

I have the whole blower removal procedure down to about 5 minutes now, i've done it so many times on many cars. Its really quite easy.

Depends on the car. Some do, some don't. I usually clean out the TB a little, my S/C stays pretty clean. Haven't had any of it off in a while on my car, even my air filter has about 25K on it. Maybe tomorrow.

my car has 45,000 miles on it and I never touched the TB, until a couple days ago. it was completely black. I cleaned her up and she ran a little better (I cleaned it cuz when it started and idled it surged in rpm a little, my colorado did that and it was due to a dirty ass TB)

I used a little bit of WD-40, however I believe there is TB specific cleaner out there, or you can just wipe it off with a rag
