so, interesting issue...

for a couple months now, every time i've turned my steering wheel, i've heard a rubbing, so i was thinking the inside of my tires were rubbing the lining or something. nothing major, and just taking brief looks at my tires, everything looked fine, so i didn't worry about it too much. when i got some work done to the car about a month and a half ago, while the car was on the lift, i took a closer look, the insides of the tires were fine, nothing wrong, no signs of rubbing. long story short, i swapped out my headlights (getting the aftermarkets refinished) and had to remound my hid ballasts.

while i had the piece that is located under the headlights out, i decided to take a look at my intake, which is a k&n. i wanted to try and twist it to see if i could get it to stop rubbing against my ecu and my coolant tank. loosened the clamp, no luck. so i took a look at my filter, to find it was wedged hardcore against the fender lining, actually causing it to bulge, which was causing my rubbing noise. now, the lining is not worn through, it is still solid, but i have to figure out a way to fix this. i don't want to buy a new intake, as i'd like to keep the k&n till i possibly upgrade to the tvs, when i'd buy a 3" intake.

i'm just wondering if anyone may have a solution, or happen to know if k&n maybe updated the tubing where i could swap it out?
